5.2 Electric starting
A.Start the engine according to the following
sequence.
(1)Open the fuel cock.
(2)Set the speed control lever to “START”
position.
(3)Turn the electric starting switch to
“START” position in clockwise.
(4)Remove your hand from the switch as
soon as the engine starts.
(5)If the starting motor doesn’t start after 10
seconds, wait for about 15 seconds before restart.
(If the starting motor is turned for too long, the
battery will go flat and motor seizure will occur.)
B.Maintenance of the battery
Check the battery once a mouth. If the
electrolyte lever has dropped to the lower mark,
replenish with the distilled water up to the upper
limit mark.
