What to do if the rotisserie motor on my Charmglow 720-0289 will not turn?
    • M
      Michael RitterAug 13, 2025
If the rotisserie motor of your Charmglow Grill won't turn, check the voltage at the outlet and ensure that the on/off switch is on. If using an extension cord, make sure it is a 16-gauge grounded cord. Verify the load does not exceed the 40-pound operational capacity, the spit is fully inserted in the motor, and there is no encumbrance or drag.

If the rotisserie burner of your Charmglow Grill will not light when the igniter button is pushed, check to see if debris is blocking the electrode sparks and if there is a spark that jumps to the burner from the electrode wire. Check the battery located inside the button by pressing and turning counterclockwise, and check for loose wire connections. Gently bend the electrode wire closer to the burner until a spark is seen to jump from the igniter to the burner when you press the starter button. Also, check if the infrared back burner lights when attempting to match light; if not, ensure that the gas is turned on.

If your Charmglow Grill doesn't flame immediately when you light it, ensure that the gas is turned on, and that there is a spark while you are trying to ignite the burner. Also, push in for approximately 5 seconds before turning to ignite the grill, and verify that your burner is clean.

Why does the regulator on my Charmglow 720-0289 Grill make noise, and how can I fix it?
    • D
      Danielle HurleyAug 25, 2025
If the regulator of your Charmglow Grill makes noise, ensure the vent hole on the regulator is not obstructed. Clear the hole, close the LP tank and gas control valves, wait ten minutes, and restart. When turning the LP tank valve on, do not cover the vent hole on the regulator. If the flames are not correct, replace the regulator.

Why my Charmglow 720-0289 Grill only heats to 200-300 degrees?
    • R
      Rachel SmithAug 28, 2025
If your Charmglow Grill only heats to 200-300 degrees, ensure the temperature gauge is functioning properly by holding a flame to the probe or comparing the grill gauge to an oven thermometer placed in the grill. Also, ensure the correct start procedure: prior to lighting the grill, the gas control knobs and propane bottle should be off; if they were on, wait 15 minutes. Turn the tank all the way on, turn the left burner to ignite, wait 5 seconds, and ignite. Repeat for additional burners. Check all gas connections for leaks with a bubble test; if leaks are found, replace the part or tighten the fitting.

Why does my Charmglow Grill take a long time to preheat?
    • B
      browncrystalSep 1, 2025
If your Charmglow Grill takes a long time to preheat, it normally takes about 10-15 minutes to preheat to 500-600 degrees. Cold weather and wind may affect your preheat time. If you are using volcanic rock or briquettes, they can increase the preheat time and maximum temperature.

What to do if full size cover does not fit the Charmglow 720-0289?
    • V
      Valerie WilliamsSep 4, 2025
If the full-size cover does not fit your Charmglow Grill, the cover may be incorrect for your grill. It may be a tight fit. Ensure the cover is the correct length for your grill by measuring it from left to right and comparing it to the grill’s measurement. Also, compare the location and size of the hood portion of the cover to your grill. Spreading the cover and allowing it to relax, preferably in warm sunlight or a warm room, may also help.

Why are the burner flames on my Charmglow Grill not light blue?
    • M
      Melissa WangSep 8, 2025
If the burner flames on your Charmglow Grill are not light blue, it could be due to too much or not enough air mixing for the flame. Elevation is the principal cause, but cold weather can also affect the mixture, so burner adjustment may be required. The grill may also be in a windy location.
