JACKING
CAUTION
In order to reduce, the chance
of
personal injury:
1.
Follow jacking and.stowage instructions.
2.
Use jack only when changing wheels.
3. Never get beneath the vehicle when using jack.
4.

run engine while vehicle is on jack.
Instructions
• Park
on
level surface and set parking brake firmly.
• Set automatic, translllissionin "Park" (manual transmission in
"Reverse,,).
• Activate hazard warning flasher.
• Remove wheel opening cover, if equipped.
•
Loosen,but
do not
remOVe,
wheel nuts by rotating wrench
counterclockwise .
• • With column seated
in
base,'
and lever
in
"up" position, insert jack
hook in
bumper.slot.
• .
B~se
must
sit
flat
with
top
of
column angled slightly away from
vehicle.

• Operate jack with slow,smooth motion.
• Raise vehicle so tire
just
clears
SUrface.
Flexible body panels
may temporarily bend during jacking.

wheel' and slightly tighten wheel. nuts
