Reposition the patient
Flush Lumens
Via access ports
Perform “10-in-10” test

Reduce Blood Flow rate
No lower than 20ml/min

Switch the lumens being used for infusion
and withdrawal
Pull catheter back until pressure
parameters are within acceptable range
Rotate catheter hub
If patient cannot maintain or achieve an
appropriate rate, consider alternative
access (e.g. central, peripheral IV)
