How to improve sanding effectiveness of my Chicago Electric 69924?
    • C
      combslukeAug 17, 2025
To improve the sanding effectiveness of your Chicago Electric sander, first confirm the accessory arbor is correct and the Outer Flange/Arbor Nut is tight. Also, check the condition and type of the disc accessory, and ensure you are using the proper type of disc accessory in good condition for the material you're working with.

Why is my Chicago Electric 69924 overheating?
    • Z
      Zachary RosarioAug 20, 2025
Your Chicago Electric Sander may be overheating because you are forcing the tool to work too fast. Allow the tool to work at its own rate. Another reason may be blocked motor housing vents. Wear ANSI-approved safety goggles and a NIOSH-approved dust mask/respirator while blowing dust out of the motor using compressed air. Finally, the motor might be strained by a long or small diameter extension cord. Eliminate the use of an extension cord. If an extension cord is needed, use one with the proper diameter for its length and load. See Extension Cords in GROUNDING section.

What to do if my Chicago Electric 69924 Sander will not start?
    • D
      David OrtegaAug 22, 2025
If your Chicago Electric Sander won't start, first check that the cord is plugged in and that there is power at the outlet. If the outlet is unpowered, turn off the tool and check the circuit breaker. If the breaker is tripped, make sure the circuit is the right capacity for the tool and the circuit has no other loads. Also, the tool’s thermal reset breaker might have tripped (if equipped). Turn off the tool and allow it to cool, then press the reset button on the tool. If none of these solutions work, there may be internal damage or wear. Have a technician service the tool.

Why does my Chicago Electric 69924 Sander operate slowly?
    • M
      Maria GordonAug 26, 2025
Your Chicago Electric Sander may be operating slowly because excess pressure is being applied to the workpiece. Decrease the pressure and allow the tool to do the work. Also, the power may be reduced by a long or small diameter extension cord. Eliminate the use of an extension cord. If an extension cord is needed, use one with the proper diameter for its length and load. See Extension Cords in GROUNDING section.
