Overview

The CP8849 and CP8849-2 are cordless 1/2" impact wrenches designed for a variety of applications, particularly tire changing operations on light vehicles, general mechanics, bodyshop applications, and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations). These tools combine the expertise in air impact wrenches with the convenience and mobility of battery power, offering optimum user-focused performances.

Function Description:

The CP8849 series is primarily intended for installing and removing threaded fasteners in wood, metal, or plastic. It features controlled torque settings, making it ideal for tasks such as tightening wheels close to manufacturer-recommended torque without overtightening. The tool allows for quick and easy snugging of bolts without damaging studs, after which a torque wrench should be used to apply the manufacturer's specified torque. The impact wrench operates in both forward and reverse modes, with multiple power settings to suit different applications.

Important Technical Specifications:

The CP8849 and CP8849-2 models share many core specifications, with the primary difference being the anvil length.

  • Battery Care: Recharge battery packs before use if they haven't been used for some time. Avoid exposing batteries to temperatures above 50°C (122°F) to prevent reduced performance and overheating. Keep charger and battery pack contacts clean. Fully charge battery packs after use for optimum lifespan. Remove the battery pack from the charger once fully charged to prolong battery life.
  • Battery Tool Contacts: It is recommended to treat the battery tool contacts every 6 months with contact lubricant (e.g., Electrolube: ERCG53A35SL).
