Overview

The Chrysler Pacifica is a minivan that offers a range of features designed for convenience, safety, and entertainment. This guide provides a quick overview of its key functionalities.

Vehicle User Guide

The vehicle includes a digital user guide accessible via the Uconnect 4C or 4C NAV touchscreen radio. To access it, press the Uconnect Apps button, then select the Vehicle User Guide icon. No registration is required.

  • Pre-Installed Features:
    • User Guide updated in real-time.
    • Touchscreen convenience.
    • Maintenance schedules and information.
    • Comprehensive icon and symbol glossary.
    • Available when and where needed.
    • Customizable interface.
    • Multilingual support.
  • Note: Vehicle User Guide features are not available while the vehicle is moving.

Speed Control: Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)

If equipped, ACC operates similarly to standard cruise control but allows you to set a specified distance to maintain from the vehicle ahead.

  • The ACC sensor detects vehicles ahead and automatically applies limited braking or acceleration to maintain the preset following distance and match speed.
  • The vehicle will not exceed the set cruise speed.
  • If no vehicle is detected ahead, it functions as a standard cruise control system.

Safety Features: Forward Collision Warning (FCW) With Mitigation

The FCW system provides active braking, audible and visual warnings (in the instrument cluster display), and may apply a brake jerk to alert the driver to a potential frontal collision. These warnings and limited braking aim to give the driver enough time to react and avoid or mitigate the collision.

  • System Status: Can be set to "Off," "Only Warning," or "Warning & Braking."
  • "Warning & Braking" with "Medium" sensitivity is the default, but settings can be changed in Uconnect under "Safety and Driving Assistance."
  • FCW monitors information from the forward-looking sensor, Electronic Brake Controller (EBC), and wheel speed sensors to calculate collision probability.
  • If a collision is probable, a warning message (audible and visual) and a brake jerk warning (if enabled) appear.
  • Additional brake force is provided if the driver applies brakes.
  • The warning deactivates when a collision is no longer probable.
  • Note: FCW can be customized and turned off via the Uconnect System touchscreen.

LaneSense With Lane Keep Assist

If equipped, the LaneSense system uses a forward-looking camera to detect lane markings and measure vehicle position within lane boundaries.

  • Operational Speed: Above 37 mph (60 km/h) and below 112 mph (180 km/h).
  • Turning ON/OFF: The LaneSense button is on the switch panel below the Uconnect display.
  • System State: Retains the last state (on or off) from the previous ignition cycle.
  • Warning Message: Indicates current lane drift condition in the instrument cluster display. Visual warnings vary based on unintentional lane departure.
  • Indicator: Solid green when both lanes are detected and the system is "armed," providing visual and torque warnings when drifting without a turn signal.
  • Telltale: Turns solid yellow as the vehicle approaches a lane marker and flashes yellow when crossing it.
  • Haptic Warning: Torque applied to the steering wheel prompts the driver to stay within lane boundaries. This can be manually overridden.
  • On but Not Armed: Telltale is solid white when only one or neither lane is detected. If a single line is detected and the driver drifts across it without a turn signal, only visual warnings are provided for that detected lane; haptic warnings are not provided.
  • Customization: LaneSense can be customized via the Uconnect System touchscreen under "Safety and Driving Assistance" with "Warning" (Early, Med, Late) and "Strength" (Low, Med, High) settings.
  • Driver Hands Detection: Monitors if the driver's hands are on the steering wheel and provides audible/visual warnings if not. The system cancels if hands are not returned.

ParkSense Rear Or ParkSense Front And Rear Park Assist

If equipped, the ParkSense Park Assist system provides visual and audible indications of the distance to detected obstacles during parking maneuvers.

  • Front Sensors (if equipped): Six sensors located in the front fascia/bumper monitor the area in front of the vehicle, detecting obstacles from approximately 12 inches (30 cm) up to 47 inches (120 cm) horizontally.
  • Rear Sensors: Four sensors in the rear fascia/bumper monitor the area behind the vehicle, detecting obstacles from approximately 12 inches (30 cm) up to 79 inches (200 cm) in REVERSE.
  • Automatic Braking: Vehicle brakes may be automatically applied and released during reverse parking if a collision is detected.
  • Warning Display: When an obstacle is detected, a warning appears in the instrument cluster, and a chime sounds (if "Sound and Display" is selected). Chime rate increases as the vehicle gets closer.
  • Potential Impact: If a potential impact is detected, vehicle brakes may be applied.
  • Enabling/Disabling: Enabled/disabled via the ParkSense switch below the Uconnect display.
  • Note: The system may not work in all environmental conditions (e.g., heavy rain, snow) or when searching for spaces with ultrasonic sensor-absorbing surfaces.

Parksense Active Park Assist System

This system assists the driver during parallel and perpendicular parking by identifying spaces, providing audible/visual instructions, and controlling the steering wheel. It is "semi-automatic" as the driver controls accelerator, gear selector, and brakes.

  • Maneuvering: Capable of maneuvering into parallel or perpendicular spaces on either side.
  • Driver Responsibility: The driver is always responsible for controlling the vehicle and surrounding objects and must intervene as required. The system assists but does not substitute the driver.
  • Cancellation: If the driver touches the steering wheel after being instructed to remove hands during a semi-automatic maneuver, the system cancels, requiring manual completion.
  • Calibration: New vehicles require at least 30 miles (48 km) for full calibration to improve performance. Dynamic calibration continuously accounts for differences like tire inflation.
  • Enabling/Disabling: Enabled/disabled via the ParkSense Active Park Assist switch below the Uconnect display (LED turns on/off).
  • Parking Space Selection: When enabled, "Active ParkSense Searching - Push OK to Switch to Perpendicular" appears. The OK button on the steering wheel switches between perpendicular and parallel parking.

ParkView Rear Back-Up Camera

Allows you to see an on-screen image of the rear surroundings whenever the gear selector is in REVERSE. The image is displayed on the Uconnect Display.

  • Location: On the rear of the vehicle, above the rear license plate.

Surround View Camera System

If equipped, this system provides an on-screen image of the surroundings and a top view of the vehicle when the gear selector is in REVERSE or a different view is selected via "on screen soft buttons."

  • Components: Four cameras located in the front grille, rear liftgate, and side mirrors.
  • Display: Image appears on the touchscreen with a "Check Entire Surroundings" caution note (disappears after five seconds).
  • Open Doors: The top view shows which doors are open.
  • Programmable Settings: Available through the Uconnect System.
  • Camera Delay (ON): Image continues for up to 10 seconds after shifting out of REVERSE, unless speed exceeds 8 mph (13 km/h) or shifted into PARK, or ignition is OFF.
  • Camera Delay (OFF): Surround view camera mode exits, and the last known screen appears.
  • Disabling: A touchscreen button (X) disables the camera image display.
  • Additional Camera Modes: Can be selected in any gear from the "Controls" or "Apps" screen in Uconnect.
  • Deactivation: System deactivates if speed exceeds 8 mph (13 km/h), out of REVERSE for >10 seconds, shifted into PARK, or "X" button pressed in any gear other than REVERSE.

Memory Seats

If equipped, this feature stores up to two different memory profiles.

  • Key Fob Linking: Two key fobs can be linked to memory positions 1 and 2.
  • Unlock Button Recall: Memory positions can be programmed to recall when the unlock button is pushed.
  • Creating a New Profile:
    1. Cycle ignition to ON/RUN (engine off).
    2. Adjust all settings (seat, side mirror, power tilt/telescopic steering column, radio presets).
    3. Push and release the set (S) button.
    4. Within five seconds, push and release memory button (1) or (2). Instrument cluster displays set position.
  • Note: Profiles can be set without the vehicle in PARK, but the vehicle must be in PARK to recall a profile.
  • Linking/Unlinking Key Fob:
    1. Cycle ignition to OFF.
    2. Select desired memory profile (1 or 2).
    3. Once recalled, push and release set (S) button.
    4. Push and release button (1) or (2). "Memory Profile Set" displays.
    5. Push and release lock button on key fob within ten seconds.
    • Unlinking: Push set (S) button, then unlock button on key fob within ten seconds.

Stow 'n Go Seating

If equipped, second and third-row seats fold into the floor for storage.

  • Auto Advance 'n Return: Front seat moves forward with a button push to avoid interference when stowing the second-row seat. Available for both front driver and passenger power seats.

Power Adjustment (Rear Seats): Third Row Power Recline

Adjusts the third-row seatback angle for comfort.

  • Operation: Push and hold forward/rearward button; seat moves in that direction. Release when desired position is reached.

Third Row Power Stow 'n Go Seat

A one-touch power folding seat switch is located in the right rear trim panel, accessible from the cargo area.

  • Functions: Open to Normal, Stow, Fold Forward/Rearward, Right/Left Seats/Both Seats.

Hands-Free Sliding Doors

If equipped, open by kicking straight in and out under the vehicle near the door handle(s). Avoid sideways or sweeping motions.

  • Activation Zone (Trailer Tow Package): Located on the left and right side of the receiver.
  • Operation: Valid kick results in chime, hazard lights flash, and liftgate opens after ~1 second (if options enabled).
  • Key Fob Requirement: Valid Passive Entry key fob within 5 ft (1.5 m) of the door handle.
  • Transmission: Operates only when transmission is in Park.
  • Obstruction Detection: If obstructed during opening, liftgate automatically reverses to closed position.
  • Pinch Sensors: Light pressure on side strips causes liftgate to return to open position.
  • Multiple Obstructions: If multiple obstructions occur in one cycle, the system stops, requiring manual operation.
  • Cold Weather: Below -12°F (-24°C), liftgate releases but may not power open; may require assistance. Remove snow/ice buildup.
  • Extended Open: If left open for an extended period, may need manual closing to reset functionality.
  • Note: Allow power system to open liftgate; manual pushing/pulling may activate obstacle detection.
  • On/Off: Feature can be turned on/off in Uconnect Settings. Should be off during jacking, tire changing, and vehicle service.
