Chapter 1 Cisco 7200 VXR Product Overview
Field-Replaceable Units
Chassis
The Cisco 7200 VXR chassis, shown in Figure 1-25, has four or six slots for the
port adapters (depending on your chassis model), one slot for the I/O controller,
and one bay for the subchassis. The subchassis assembly contains the midplane,
the fan tray, two power supply bays, and one slot for the network processing
engine. The replacement chassis includes the subchassis assembly and one power
supply.
Note To replace the chassis, you must remove and replace all the port
adapters, the I/O controller, and the network processing engine;
therefore, when replacing the chassis, refer to the configuration
notes that explain how to remove and replace these units. These
configuration notes accompany every chassis that is shipped from
the factory as a FRU. The configuration notes are also available on
the Documentation CD-ROM and on CCO.
