7 SAFETY
ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTeM (ABS) WITH eLeCTRONIC BRAKeFORCe
dISTRIBUTION (eBd), eMeRGeNCY BRAKe ASSISTANCe (eBA)
eLeCTRONIC STABILITY PROGRAM (eSP) WITH TRACTION CONTROL (ASR)
- The C5 comes with ABS, EBD EBA and ESP/ASR as standard.
- ABS prevents the wheels from locking when emergency braking, allowing you to steer round
an obstruction (The hazard lights will also be activated to warn other drivers).
- EBD maximizes stopping power.
- EBA applies an immediate maximum brake force.
- ESP is a reactionary system which is designed to keep the car stable in an emergency such
as a quick lane change.
- ASR prevents the wheels from spinning in low traction circumstances.
SWITCHING OFF ESP/ASR SYSTEMS
- In certain exceptional conditions such as starting the vehicle when stuck in mud, snow, or on loose
ground, you may wish to switch the system off by pressing the button, located on the dashboard.
If the warning lamp flashes then the ESP or ASR have been triggered and are operational.

WARNING LIGHTS ANd AUdIBLe WARNING SYSTeM FOR ALL UNFASTeNed SeAT BeLTS
- There are seat belt warning lights for the driver, front and rear passengers which are displayed in the
roof console display, showing the outline of the vehicle and the various seating positions.
