levels by cutting pollutant
emissions with its electronically controlled high
pressure direct injection diesel engines, as well
as its multi-valve petrol engines.

TYRES
With a reduction in rolling resistance of 20%,
Michelin’s Energy Saver
®
tyres, tted on 1.6HDi
16V 110hp VTR+ NAV models, reduce the
amount of energy needed to propel the car
along the road which results in a reduction
in the fuel consumption. This is achieved
with no loss of grip or stability, with shorter
stopping distances in wet conditions. The tyre’s
innovative architecture generates fuel savings of
nearly 0.2litres per 100km (in combined cycle),
resulting in a reduction in CO
2
emissions of
nearly 9g/km and around one tonne less CO
2
over the entire life of a Citroën C5.
FOOT-DOWN WITHOUT
THE FOOTPRINT
The Citroën C5 offers you a choice of seven
engines in all: petrol or diesel, ranging from
110hp to 240hp – and the diesel versions
are equipped with our award-winning Diesel
Particulate Filter System (DPFS) as standard.
Excelling in environmental credentials, this DPFS
signicantly exceeds EU standards, contributing
to hugely improved exhaust emissions and
virtually eliminating diesel smoke for even more
responsible motoring. Each engine has been
carefully engineered to meet Euro IV emissions
standards or even Euro V for the 2.0HDi 16V
140hp and 3.0HDi V6 240hp models.
