24. These trucks are equip-
ped with a dash mounted
engine oil pressure indicator
light. This light should go
out shortly after the engine
starts.
If the indicator light does
not go out or if the light
comes on at any time dur-
ing operation you should
shut down the engine.
Do not restart it until the
cause can be located and
corrected.

25. Check the ammeter for
proper operation. It should
indicate a high rate of
charge for a short period of
time after the engine starts.
If the ammeter shows a con-
tinuous high rate of charge,
discharge, reads erratically,
or is otherwise damaged
you should record these
facts on your check list.

26. On gas model trucks
check the fuel gauge to de-
termine the amount of fuel
in the tank.
It is recommended that you
always start your shift with
a full fuel tank.
