27. Check dash mounted
water temperature gauge to
insure that it is undamaged
and functioning properly.
Water temperature should
reach 180°F. after 10
minutes of operation.
If the indicator needle goes
into the "hot" or red area
during operation — imme-
diately shut down the en-
gine and do not restart until
cause of trouble has been
located and corrected.

28. The engine hour meter
is located inside the left
hand side panel just above
the fuel filler cap.
Unlatch the left hand side
panel and open it far
enough to check the hour
meter. Make certain that
the hour meter is un-
damaged and functioning
properly then close the side
panel and make sure it
latches.

29. Gently pull back on the
tilt control lever and hold
until upright reaches full
back tilt.
Do not hold lever back after
upright has reached full
back tilt — to do so will
unduly heat the hydraulic
fluid and could harm the
hydraulic system compo-
nents.
