PRESSURE
GAUGE
Oil
pressure
should
be
between
20
and 60

normal engine oper-
ating
speeds.
At
idle,
pressure
should
not
fall
below
5
PSI.
If
pres-
sure
is low (on
some
models
indicated
by a
dash
light)
or
erratic,
shut down engine
until
trouble
is
located.
WATER
TEMPERATURE
GAUGE
Water
temperature
should
be
about
180°F.
after
10
min.
of
opera-
tion.
If the
indicator
registers
in the
"hot"
zone,
turn
off
engine
until
trouble
is
located.
AMMETER
If the
ammeter shows
a
continuous high rate
of
charge
or
discharge,
or
reads
erratically,
re-
port
trouble
to
proper
authority.
NOTE:
A
high
charge
rate
will
be
indicated
for a
brief
time
after
engine
is
started.
HOUR METER
Total engine operating
hours
are
registered
on
the
hour meter.
The
indicated hours
are
used
for
planned main-
tenance.
The
total
hours
should
be
record-
ed
at the
beginning
and
end
of
each
shift
on
the
Operator's Daily
Checklist.
