Always check
radiator
coolant
level
with
the
engine
turned
off. When possible
with
engine
cold. Proper coolant
level
is one
inch below
the
bottom
of the
filler neck.
Never
add
cold
water
or
cold anti-freeze
into
the
radiator
of an
overheated engine.
Allow
the
engine
to
cool
and
avoid
the
danger
of
cracking
the
cylinder head
or
block. Keep engine run-
ning while adding water
or
anti-freeze.
A
solu-
tion
of 50%
Ethylene Glycol
and 50%
water
is
recommended. Never
use
only
water.
CAUTION:
Use
extreme
care
when removing
radiator pressure cap.
The
sudden
release
of
pressure
can
cause
a
steam flash resulting
in
serious
injury.
Place
a rug
over
cap and
loosen
slowly
to
allow gradual
escape
of
steam.
