What to do if my Clarke CSV1A will not start?
- MMike PearsonAug 5, 2025
If your Clarke Water Pump doesn't start, there are several things you can check: * Ensure the power is switched on. * Check the fuse (consult an electrician if you're unsure). * If using an extension lead, check the connections (consult an electrician if you're unsure). * The internal thermal cut-out may need to reset; leave it for 5 minutes and try again. * The impeller might be jammed. Disconnect the pump, remove the bottom strainer, clear any obstructions, replace the strainer, and try again. * The float switch could be jammed or the water level might be too low, preventing the float switch from turning on. Check the float switch is free to move and lift the float to check the switch.
