Overview

The TT 180 BM is a tile saw designed for durability and high performance in wet and dry cutting operations of a wide range of tiles, primarily on construction sites. It is not intended for cutting wood or metals. The machine is built with attention to detail and quality materials to ensure a long life and minimal maintenance.

Function Description:

The TT 180 BM is used for cutting tiles. It features a motor, a cutting table, and a switch for operation. The guide-a-cut allows for adjustment to the desired cutting width, and a separate guide is provided for mitre cuts. The machine also supports bevel cuts by loosening two side screws and pivoting the table. A blade guard is in place to prevent water projection and protect the operator from the blade.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Electric motor: 550W
  • Voltage: 230V (also available in 230V UK and 110V UK versions)
  • Protection rating: IP 44
  • Max. blade diameter: 180 mm
  • Bore: 25.4 mm
  • Rotation speed of the blade: 2950 min⁻¹
  • Flange diameter: 50 mm
  • Cutting depth: 34 mm
  • Sound pressure level: 72 dB (A) (ISO EN 11201)
  • Sound energy level: 80 dB (A) (ISO EN 3744)
  • Table dimensions (LxW): 395 x 385 mm
  • Machine dimensions (LxWxH): 440 x 390 x 230 mm
  • Weight (machine complete): 11 kg
  • Weight (ready for use with water): 14 kg
  • Maximum tile dimensions for cutting: 400x400x6mm
  • Maximum tile weight for cutting: 3kg

The declared value of vibration emission is less than 2.5 m/s², with an uncertainty K of 0.5 m/s². These values are determined using the procedure described in EN 12418 and are based on new machines. Actual values may vary depending on materials worked, machine wear, maintenance, tool condition, and operator skill.

Usage Features:

  • Assembly and Commissioning: The machine is delivered fully equipped. Before operation, the diamond blade, blade guard, and guide-a-cut must be assembled, and the machine connected to the appropriate power supply.
  • Tool Assembly: Only CLIPPER continuous rim blades with a maximum diameter of 180 mm should be used. Ensure the blade's rotation direction is correct (check the arrow on the blade guard) to prevent rapid blunting. The blade bore must precisely match the blade shaft diameter.
  • Guide-a-cut Assembly: The guide-a-cut is placed on the table and secured using its side handle.
  • Electrical Connections: Connecting cables should have at least a 2.5mm²-section per phase. Verify that the voltage/phase supply matches the motor plate information and that the power supply has a ground connection in accordance with safety regulations.
  • Starting and Stopping: The machine is started by pressing the green button and stopped by pressing the red button, which also functions as an emergency switch.
  • Water Cooling System: The water pan must be filled with clean water up to 5mm from its upper edge. Adequate water supply to both sides of the blade is crucial to prevent premature diamond blade failure. Always ensure sufficient water is in the pan and refill as needed. In case of frost, the water cooling system must be emptied.
  • Site of Work: The work area must be clear of obstacles, well-lit, and have a firm, stable base for the machine. Electrical cables should be placed to avoid damage. The operator must maintain a clear view of the working area and keep other staff out of the immediate vicinity. A 2-meter clearance around the machine is recommended for operation and maintenance.
  • Cutting Methods: To operate, hold the tile with both hands, pushing it against the blade, keeping hands away from the moving blade. The guide-a-cut can be adjusted using the two scales on the table for desired cutting width.
  • General Cutting Advice: Only tiles within the specified maximum dimensions and weight should be cut. Tools must be firmly seated. Select appropriate tools based on the material, cutting procedure (wet or dry), and desired efficiency. Do not force the motor, as the machine is not designed for continuous use.

Maintenance Features:

  • General Maintenance: Always perform maintenance with the machine isolated from the electrical supply.
  • Lubrication: The TT180 uses life-lubricated bearings, so no additional lubrication is required.
  • Cleaning: Thorough cleaning after each day of work, especially the water pan, motor, and blade flange, will extend the machine's lifespan.
  • Maintenance Plan:
    • Begin of the day: Visual control (general aspect, watertightness), clean flange and blade fixing devices, motor cooling fans, water pan, engine housing.
    • During tool change: Clean flange and blade fixing devices, motor cooling fans, water pan, engine housing.
    • End of the day or more often if required: Clean flange and blade fixing devices, motor cooling fans, water pan, engine housing.
    • Every week: Tighten reachable nuts and screws.
    • After a fault/damage: Visual control (general aspect, watertightness), clean flange and blade fixing devices, motor cooling fans, water pan, engine housing.
  • Fault-finding Procedures: In case of a fault, turn off the machine and isolate it from the electrical supply. Any electrical system work must be performed by a qualified electrician.
    • Motor not running: Check electrical supply (fuse), connection cable section, connection cable condition, switch condition, and motor condition.
    • No water on the blade: Refill the water pan.

For spare parts, mention the serial number, part code, exact denomination, number of parts required, and delivery address. Specify transportation means if needed. Warranty claims require returning the defective part for evaluation. Spare parts for the motor can be ordered from the motor manufacturer or their dealer for quicker service.
