2.4.5 Oil traps
The indoor unit is installed higher than the outdoor
unit.

CAUTION DANGER
If the oil flows back into the outdoor unit’s
compressor, liquid compression may occur or
the oil return may deteriorate, both of which
can be avoided by fitting oil traps along the
vertical gas pipes.
An oil trap must be installed every 10 m along the vertical
section of the gas pipes.

CAUTION DANGER
It is advisable not to increase the capacity of
the risers for vertical intake. The correct oil
return to the compressor must be maintained
by the gas intake speed. If the speeds drop
below 7.62 m/s, there will be a reduction in the
oil return.
An oil trap must be installed every 6 m along the vertical
section of the gas pipes.
