The machine can be operated with different trimming
heads according to the purpose for which it is being
used:
• Impact knife: exclusively for trimming open
areas with strong growth such as: Weeds, high
grass, undergrowth, bushes, weed growth,
scrub, etc.
• Filament head: exclusively for trimming grass. It
can be used along walls, fences, lawn edges,
trees, posts, etc.
Connect both shaft tubes

– Push the lower shaft pipe(7) into the upper shaft
pipe(5).
– Slightly turn the shaft pipes against one another
until the locking bolt (21) audibly engages.
– Tighten the clamping screw (22).
Fitting the operating bar
►P.4, item3
– Screw down both halves of the operating handle
(4) using the screws (23) as illustrated.
Fitting the shoulder strap
►P.4, item3
– Hook the shoulder strap into the lug(2) on the
shaft tube.
Fitting the protective hood
►P.4, item3
– Use screws(24) to screw the protective hood(8)
to the trimming head(9)
Fitting the knife
– Remove and store the knife transport guard (e.g.
when storing the machine).

– Insert a suitable object (Allen key etc.) as shown
and hold it in the hole(26).
– Unscrew the hexagon nut(27) by rotating clock-
wise. Caution: Left hand thread!
– Remove the blade flange (28).
►P.5, item6
– Attach the blade (29).
– Attach the blade flange (28).
– Tighten the hexagon nut(27) in counter-clock-
wise sense. Caution: Left hand thread!
Fitting the filament spool
►P.4, item4
– Remove the transportation protection mecha-
nism from the cutting blade(25).
►P.4, item5
– Insert a suitable object (Allen key etc.) as shown
and hold it in the hole(26).
– Unscrew the hexagon nut(27) by rotating clock-
wise. Caution: Left hand thread!
– Remove the blade flange (28).
►P.5, item7
– Place the filament spool(30) on the drive shaft,
and turn it hand tight in an anticlockwise direc-
tion. Caution: Left hand thread!)
Operation
Filling with fuel
►P.3, item2
– Lay down the machine safely with the tank cap
facing up.
– Before opening the tank, clean the tank cap and
the filler nozzle if necessary.
– Slowly turn the tank cap(19) open and remove it.
– Slowly fill in the fuel mix. Avoid spilling!
– Check the seal inside the tank cap for damage
and replace it if necessary. Replace a damaged
seal immediately!
– Tighten the tank cap and seal by hand.
– In case you spilled some fuel: make sure to wipe
off the fuel.
Check the safe condition of the machine:
– Check the machine for leaks.
Check before use!
Check the safety devices and the safe condition of
the machine(especially tightening knob, protective
hood and trimming head):
– Check the machine for visual damage: broken
parts, cracks, etc.
– Check that all parts of the machine have been
securely fitted.
– Check that all safety devices are in proper con-
dition.
– Check that there are no leaks.
– Remove the knife transport guard.
DANGER! Risk of injury during installa-
tion! No parts may be installed or removed
unless the motor has been turned off and
cooled down.
DANGER! Risk of injury during installa-
tion! The knife is sharp. Wear cut-resistant
work gloves when installing the knife.
DANGER! Danger of injury! There is a
sharp knife for trimming the filament on the
underside of the filament hood. Remove the
transport packaging only after installation.
DANGER! Danger of injury! Fuel is explo-
sive!
– Turn off and cool the motor down
before filling the tank with fuel.
– You must observe all safety instruc-
tions relating to handling fuel.
Note: Stipulated fuel(►Approved fuels–
p.49)
DANGER! Attention, danger of injury! Do
not operate the machine unless you did not
find any faults. If a part has become defec-
tive, make sure to replace it before you use
the machine again.
