Thereare2typesofcalibrationavailable:ABC
(AutomaticBaselineCalibration)ormanual
calibration.Oneortheothershouldbeused
regularlytomaintaingoodaccuracy.
Note:
If
TIM10accuracybecomesaconcernafterlong
useorotherspecialconditions,returnthemeter
tothedealerforcalibration.
CAUTION:
Donotcalibratethemeterwithairorbottledgas
thatcontainsanunknownCO2level.Themeter
willassumeitis400ppmCO2andwillgive
inaccurate
measurements.
ABCCalibration
ABC(AutomaticBaselineCalibration)isdesigned
toeliminatethezerodriftovertimeoftheinfrared
CO2sensor.TheABCfunctionisenabledbydefault
fromthefactory.
ForABCtoworkproperly,themetermust
continuouslymonitorCO2levelsforatleast7.5
days(poweron).During
thattime,itwillrecord
thelowestCO2levelandsetthatasthe400ppm
baselineforfuturereadings.Therefore,itiscritical
whenusingABCcalibrationthatthemeterbe
exposedtofreshairatleastonceevery7.5days.If
thisisnotpossible,thenmanualcalibration
is
recommended.
ManualCalibration
Manualcalibrationrequiresfresh,dryoutdoorair
whenCO2levelsareapproximately400ppm.Do
notcalibrateduringrainydays.Highhumiditywill
affecttheCO2levelsinair.
Duringmanualcalibration,avoidplacingthemeter
inareascrowdedwithpeopleorcloseto
structuresthatmight
giveoffCO2likeair
ventilationpipes,chimneys,orautomobiles.
Tomanuallycalibratethemeter,placeitoutdoors,
andturnitonforatleast2minutes.Thenhold
down“SET“,"▲"and“MIN/MAX▼”
simultaneouslymorethan1secondtoenterCO2
calibrationmode(Fig.19).400ppm
and
“CO2”willblinkduringcalibration.
Waitabout30minutesuntiltheblinkingstops.
Calibrationiscompletedautomatically.Tostop
manualcalibration,press“RESET“foratleast1
second.
