This document describes the Comfee Range Hood, models CVG30W9AST and CVG36W9AST, a user manual for a residential cooking ventilation system.
Function Description
The Comfee Range Hood is designed for residential cooking use, primarily to ventilate cooking fumes and vapors from the kitchen. It can be installed in two main configurations: vented (ducted) or non-vented (recirculating). In the vented configuration, the hood exhausts air to the outdoors, either through the roof or a wall. For non-vented installations, it uses an activated charcoal filter to purify the air, which is then recycled back into the kitchen through a top grille. The hood features controls for lighting, blower speed, and a delayed shutdown mode.

Safety Recommendations for Use:
- Always turn the hood ON when cooking at high heat or when flambéing food.
- Use proper pan size and cookware appropriate for the surface element.
- Never leave surface units unattended at high settings to prevent boilovers, smoking, and greasy spillovers.
- In case of a range top grease fire, smother flames with a close-fitting lid, cookie sheet, or metal tray, then turn off the burner. Do not use water.
- Ensure sufficient air is available for proper combustion and exhausting of gases, especially with fuel-burning equipment, to prevent backdrafting.
- Do not use the unit with any solid-state speed control device.
- Always leave safety grills and filters in place to prevent operating blowers from catching hair, fingers, or loose clothing.
Maintenance Features
Regular maintenance is crucial for optimal performance and safety.
Grease Filters:
- Cleaning: Metal self-supporting grease filters must be cleaned frequently. They can be washed in a dishwasher or with a hot detergent solution.

- Replacement Procedure:
- Remove the metal grease filters.
- Remove the saturated activated charcoal filter.
- Install the new filters.
- Replace the metal grease filters.
Lighting:
- Light Replacement: The entire light module must be replaced.
- Procedure:
