What to do if the ODS/pilot lights but the flame goes out when the control knob is released on my Comfort Glow CGP20TB Gas Heater?
    • K
      Kayla HillSep 1, 2025
If the ODS/pilot lights but the flame goes out when you release the control knob on your Comfort Glow Gas Heater, ensure the control knob is fully pressed in and held for at least 30 seconds after the ODS/pilot lights. If you have a thermostat model, wait one minute for the safety interlock system to reset and then repeat the ignition operation. Also, make sure the equipment shutoff valve is fully open. Check the thermocouple connection at the control valve and hand tighten it until snug, then give it an additional 1/4 turn. The pilot flame may not be touching the thermocouple. In that case, contact your local propane/LP gas company or clean/replace the ODS/pilot assembly. Finally, the thermocouple or control valve might be damaged, requiring replacement.

Why is there no spark at the ODS/pilot when I press the ignitor button on my Comfort Glow CGP20TB Gas Heater?
    • V
      Victoria WhiteSep 4, 2025
If there's no spark at the ODS/pilot when you press the ignitor button on your Comfort Glow Gas Heater, it could be due to several reasons. The ignitor electrode might be positioned wrong or broken, in which case you should replace it. Ensure the ignitor electrode is connected to the ignitor cable; reconnect if necessary. Also, check if the ignitor cable is pinched or wet; free it if pinched and keep it dry. A loose piezo ignitor nut can also cause this issue; tighten the nut located inside the heater cabinet at the top. The ignitor cable could also be broken, requiring replacement, or the piezo ignitor itself might be bad, also requiring replacement.

What to do if the ignitor button is pressed and there is a spark at ODS/pilot but no ignition on my Comfort Glow Gas Heater?
    • M
      Ms. Christina GreenSep 6, 2025
If you're getting a spark at the ODS/pilot but no ignition on your Comfort Glow Gas Heater, first check that the gas supply is turned on and the equipment shutoff valve is open. Ensure the control knob is in the PILOT position and pressed in while in that position. If the gas lines were recently installed, there may be air in them; continue holding down the control knob and repeat the igniting operation until the air is removed. It's also possible that the gas supply is depleted, so contact your local propane/LP gas company. The ODS/pilot could also be clogged, requiring cleaning or replacement of the ODS/pilot assembly. Finally, the gas regulator setting might not be correct, needing replacement of the gas regulator.

Why does my Comfort Glow Gas Heater have delayed ignition of the burner?
    • M
      Matthew GeorgeSep 8, 2025
Delayed ignition of the burner in your Comfort Glow Gas Heater can occur if the manifold pressure is too low, in which case you should contact your local propane/LP gas company. Another possible cause is a clogged burner orifice; consider cleaning the burner or replacing the burner orifice.
