1. GENERAL INFORMATION ON THE
MANUAL
This manual consists of 3 main parts.
The rst part provides information relating to the
manufacturer and structure of the manual.
The second part contains general safety infor-
mation that should be read completely before
starting any work on the machine.
The third and nal part contains specic instruc-
tions relating to model with additional specic
product safety information.
All 3 sections of this manual should be read
carefully before starting any work.

information that is important for the ef-
cient use of the product.
WARNINGS: This symbol identies tech-
nical information that is important for pre-
venting damage to the product and possibly
compromising the safety of the operator.

1.1 Initial safety warnings
CAUTION! failure to comply with any re-
quirement contained in this manual leads
to an increase in the risk of an accident.
CAUTION! check whether there are any
residual risks for the specic product model
before starting to use the machine.
CAUTION! Any maintenance operation not
covered in this manual should not be per-
formed by the user but by staff authorised
by the manufacturer. It is not an oversight
but a choice due to the consequences that
the operation could have on product safety.

1.2 Warranty
Compa products used by non-professional staff and
covered by European Community Directive 1999/44/
EC, usually sold with a receipt and not with an in-
voice, have a two-year warranty.
Compa products used by professional staff (crafts-
men, etc.) usually sold with an invoice, have a one-
year warranty.
The warranty only applies if the product has been
used exclusively in the manner described in this op-
erating manual, if it has not been tampered with in
any way, if it has not been repaired by unauthorised
staff and, where applicable, if only original spare
parts have been used.
Consumables and/or components subject to consid-
erable wear such as batteries, light bulbs, cutting
and nishing elements etc. are not covered under
any circumstances.
The applicability of the warranty terms and condi-
tions are at the unquestionable discretion of Compa.
Requests for warranty service must be addressed to
the local dealer or local service centres by lling out
the relevant forms available there.
