To replace the flexible ground shield, follow these steps:
IMPORTANT: To prevent damage to the fixed disk drive, be sure the flexible
ground shield is replaced properly.
1. Replace the flexible ground shield, white side down, on the component side
of the fixed disk drive. Be sure the long flap is facing the connector.
2. Extend the slide flaps of the flexible ground shield.
3. Replace the shock mounts to the fixed disk drive, then fold the flexible
ground shield side flaps over the outside of the shock mounts.
IMPORTANT: To ensure proper grounding, be sure the flexible ground shield
side flaps are folded over the outside of the shock mounts.
Removing a Diskette Drive
NOTE: If the drive cable is being replaced, remove the diskette drive, then
disconnect the drive cable from the system unit.
Use the Torx T-15 screwdriver to remove the four screws from the diskette
drive.
