C. Upgrade procedure from the internal hard disk of the CMED3PLUS
1. Copying the firmware files to the CMED3PLUS
1.1 If you have downloaded the firmware upgrade from www.conceptronic.net, you have a ZIP file
containing a folder named FW’ and three documentation files.
1.2 Connect the CMED3PLUS to your computer with the USB cable.
1.3 Copy the ‘FW folder including all its content to the hard disk of the CMED3PLUS.
1.4 Remove the CMED3PLUS from your computer with the ‘Safely remove hardware’ option.
1.5 Disconnect the USB cable of the CMED3PLUS and turn it off with the switch on the back side.
2. Updating the firmware
2.1 Connect the CMED3PLUS to a TV or monitor.
2.2 Turn on the CMED3PLUS with a remote control.
2.3 Select the ‘FW folder by using the navigation buttons on the remote control.
The upgrade process will now start. This will be visible in the upper left corner with the terms
ERASE’ and ‘WRITE’.
Note: The CMED3PLUS must not be turned off during the upgrade process. Doing so will
result in an unusable product which is not covered by the warranty.
2.4 As soon as the upgrade process is completed, the screen will go black.
Note: The device is still turned on. You need to manually turn off the device by pressing the
POWER’ button on the remote control. You can completely turn the device off by
turning off the switch on the back side of the device.
3. Removing the ‘FW’ folder
3.1 Connect the CMED3PLUS to your computer with the USB cable.
3.2 Remove the ‘FW folder from the hard disk. This makes sure the CMED3PLUS won’t start
updating again when the ‘FW’ folder is selected on your TV or monitor.
3.3 Remove the CMED3PLUS from your computer with the ‘Safely remove hardware’ option.
3.4 Disconnect the USB cable from the CMED3PLUS and turn it off with the switch on the back side.
