GENERAL
3.1
INTENDED PURPOSE
The backwashing filter is used in drinking water installations for filtering drinking water.
Please refer to the chapter 4.1 “INTENDED USE” for use restrictions.
They can also lead to malfunctions on valves, control and regulating devices and sensitive equipment, and
can cause other technical malfunctions in the house installation.

Please check the consignment immediately after unpacking for completeness and transport damage, as
later complaints can not be accepted.
This backwashing filter is suitable for use in cold drinking water (water of the mu-
nicipal water supply) up to a maximum water temperature of 30 °C (86 °F). It is ab-
solutely essential that the manufacturer/supplier will be consulted prior to any
operation of the device using water of a different quality, respectively with water
that contains additives.
The backwashing filter removes coarse and fine-grained particles from the water
which are larger than or equal in size to the mesh size of the backwashing filter.
Particles smaller than the supplied mesh size and impurities causing turbidity can-
not be filtered out of the water. However, these do not cause any problems.
The coarse and fine-grained particles can cause impurity induced corrosion dam-
age in the form of shallow pits and pitting (aeration cells) in cold water pipes and
hot water supply systems and must therefore be removed.
