Usage Features:

The MCP-C WP features a simple connection with terminals for switch function and loop connections. For Servofighter systems, specific connections are provided. An important note for installation is to add an End of Line resistor between terminals 2 and 4 or 6 and 8 (for Servofighter) after the last section unit, as per system specifications.

Maintenance Features:

The device allows for easy glass replacement. To remove the cover, unscrew the four cover fixing screws. Insert a large flat-bladed screwdriver into the slot between the cover and back box, gently twisting until the latches disengage, then pull the cover away. The glass can then be changed following the illustrated steps.

The Salwico 2IP55 is a base designed for all Salwico IP55 detector adapters, enabling the installation of smoke, heat, and flame detectors in harsh environments with an ingress protection of up to IP55. It is compatible with both addressable and conventional fire alarm systems.

The Salwico AC-IR-3Fq is a triple frequency conventional infrared flame detector, utilizing advanced manufacturing technology to provide superior fire detection. It is designed to detect smokeless combustible liquid and gas fires, as well as smoke-forming open fires involving carbonaceous materials like wood, plastics, and oil products. The fire evaluation process is carried out by a triple Infrared (3Fq) sensor, protected by a sapphire glass filter that blocks radiation below 6.0µm wavelength. The sensor measures hot carbon dioxide in a specific flame wavelength, while B and C sensors simultaneously measure interference radiation in near wavelengths. This technique, combined with intelligent signal processing, microprocessors, and custom algorithms, ensures excellent detection reliability and high immunity to interference radiation and sunlight.

Usage Features:

The detector's sensitivity can be set using the 4-way DIP-switch S1, allowing configuration as Conventional or Addressable and presetting the sensitivity threshold (Class 1, 2, or 3). Class 1 is recommended for high sensitivity (up to 27 m), Class 2 for medium (up to 17 m), and Class 3 for low (up to 12 m). For conventional mode, Sw.No.3 and Sw.No.4 should be ON. For addressable mode, they should be OFF. The detector bases compatible are 5200235-00A (Conventional Base) and 5200237-00A (Addressable Base).

Installation Guidelines:

  • The detector should be installed on a base (IP65 proof version).
  • Ensure objects do not block the detector's field-of-view (FOV), including glass and Plexiglas.
  • Whenever possible, sensors should be mounted so their ranges and FOVs overlap.
  • Mount sensors so their FOV is not obstructed by moving machinery or personnel. Installation on ceilings or as high as possible is recommended.
  • Avoid exposing the detector window to hot or cold intermittent airflow that could change the detector's temperature or FOV background.
  • To ensure optimal sensitivity, avoid pointing sensors at hot surfaces. If unavoidable, ensure no chopper is present.
  • Sensors should be easily accessible for inspection and maintenance.
  • If mechanical damage or window contamination is likely, protect the sensor, but ensure the protection method does not obstruct the FOV.
  • The sensor can be mounted in any orientation by removing captive screws.
  • Mounting the sensor downwards is recommended to minimize window contamination.
  • Avoid installations that exceed environmental approvals (temperature, shocks, vibrations).
  • Prevent electromagnetic interference by installing detectors out of reach of personnel.
  • Do not leave extra cable slack during installation.
  • Connect the cable shield to the ground on one side only.
  • For outdoor mounting, fit the detector screws on the base to ensure IP67 protection.

Maintenance Features:

For functional testing, use the Salwico IR Test lamp (part no. 001156). Due to the detector's high immunity to unwanted alarms, testing without the IR test lamp is difficult.

The SPB-ADAPT is a base adapter for Salwico IP55 detector bases (part no. 046950 and NS-2IP55 part no. 046900). It replaces older adapters like SPB-1 (part no. 046915) and NS-ADAPT (part no. N1421). This adapter allows smoke, heat, and flame detectors to be connected and is compatible with all Salwico fire alarm systems. For more information on suitable bases, refer to the "Base matrix" document.

Important Mounting Instructions:

The mounting screws should be fitted with the following torque:

  • Addressable detectors IA, OA, TDT, and EV-PP series: Shows connections for Loop in, Loop out, and Remote output.
