8.3 Taking the appliance out of operation and disposal
Requirements
Before taking the appliance out of service, check the following points:
The appliance is de-energized.
Requirements to be met by personnel
The job of placing the appliance out of operation must only be entrusted to service engineers from an
authorized customer service office.
Only qualified electricians are permitted to perform work on electrical equipment.
Taking the appliance out of operation
To take your appliance out of operation, follow the steps for positioning and installing your appliance in
the reverse order (see the chapters "Moving and positioning the appliance on page 39" and "Connecting
up the appliance on page 57").
The following tasks must be performed correctly:
Disconnecting or isolating the electrical supply
Disposal
The appliance must not be disposed of with the household refuse, as bulk waste or in contravention of
regulations.
Contact the manufacturer for guidance on the environmentally safe disposal of your appliance. The
manufacturer is certified to the ISO 14001:2004 environmental management standard and will dispose
of your old appliance in accordance with valid environmental protection regulations.
