2.2 Measuring Samples
NOTE Good laboratory practice dictates that electrodes should
be calibrated at least daily.
Place the tip of the electrode in the sample and press
to start the measurement. The decimal point will be
flashing whenever the electrode is reading.
When the reading is stable, press to freeze the display.
NOTE The display of the Model 430 will show both a digital
and an analog pH reading.
2.3 Meter Reset and Buffer Sets
This process resets the meter electronics and places the selected
buffer set in the meter memory. When calibrating you can use
any two of the three buffers in the selected set.
Buffer Set 1 (b=1): 4.00, 7.00, 10.01 pH
Buffer Set 2 (b=2): 4.01, 7.00, 9.21 pH
Buffer Set 3 (b=3): 4.01, 6.86, 9.18 pH
To reset the meter and buffer set:
Turn the meter off
Press and hold and turn meter on
Release key.
The display will show b=1, b=2, or b=3.
Press until display shows the buffer set you want.
Press and the meter will reset and put the selected buffer
set into the meter memory.
