Why does the blade keep breaking on my Cosen Saw?
    • L
      Laurie RiveraAug 20, 2025
Blade breakage in your Cosen Saw can occur for several reasons. The teeth may be too coarse, so using a finer tooth blade might help. Misalignment of guides, dry cutting, excessive speed or tension can also cause the blade to break. Make sure to adjust the saw guides, use cutting lubricant, lower the speed (refer to Operating Instructions “Speed selection”) and tension the blade to prevent slippage on the drive wheel while cutting. Also, check if the wheels are out of line and adjust them if necessary. Finally, excessive speed and pressure can also contribute to blade breakage, so reduce feed pressure (refer to Operating Instructions “Adjusting Feed”).

What to do if the motor will not start and the fuse blows on my Cosen Saw?
    • G
      gwigginsAug 22, 2025
If the motor of your Cosen Saw won't start and the fuse or circuit breakers are blowing, the issue could be a short circuit in the line, cord, or plug. Inspect these for damaged insulation or shorted wires. Another cause could be a short circuit in the motor or loose connections, so inspect all lead terminations on the motor for loose or shorted terminals or worn insulation. Finally, incorrect fuses or circuit breakers in the power line could be the problem, so install the correct ones.

How to fix a Cosen Saw when the motor stalls?
    • M
      Matthew ThomasAug 25, 2025
If the motor stalls on your Cosen Saw, it could be due to several factors. Excessive belt tension might be the cause; adjust it so the belt doesn't slip on the drive pulley while cutting, ensuring about 1/2“ minimum deflection under moderate pressure. Excessive head pressure could also be the reason; reduce it by referring to the Operating Instructions “Adjusting Feed.” Too much blade speed or an improper blade selection can also cause the motor to stall; refer to the Operating Instructions “Speed Selection” and “Blade Selection,” respectively.

Why my Cosen Saw cannot make a square cut?
    • D
      Deborah WilkersonAug 27, 2025
If your Cosen Saw cannot make a square cut, several factors could be responsible. A dull blade is a common cause, so try replacing the blade. Improperly adjusted guide rollers can also lead to this issue; refer to the Adjustments section for guidance. Additionally, the rear vise jaw may not be set correctly; ensure the fixed vise jaw is 90° to the blade. Finally, excessive head pressure can also cause this problem; reduce it according to the operating instructions under “Adjusting Feed.”

How to decrease cutting time on my Cosen Saw?
    • L
      larsenyvetteAug 28, 2025
If you're experiencing increased cutting time with your Cosen Saw, a dull blade is a common culprit, so consider replacing it. Insufficient head pressure can also slow down cutting; increase it by referring to the Operating Instructions “Adjusting Feed.” Additionally, reducing the blade speed might help; consult the Operating Instructions “Speed Selection” for guidance.

What causes the motor to overheat on my Cosen Saw?
    • H
      holmesharryAug 30, 2025
If the motor on your Cosen Saw is overheating, it could be due to the motor being overloaded, so reduce the load. Another possible cause is restricted air circulation through the motor. Clean the motor to ensure normal air circulation.

What to do if the motor will not start on my Cosen Saw?
    • D
      Donald PhelpsSep 1, 2025
If the motor on your Cosen Saw won't start, it could be due to a magnetic switch or protector being open. Try resetting the protector by pushing the red button inside the electric box. Low voltage could also be the issue, so check the power line for proper voltage. Another possibility is an open circuit in the motor or loose connections; inspect all lead terminations on the motor for loose or open connections.

Why is my Cosen Saw not cutting?
    • D
      Dr. Anna MarshallSep 2, 2025
Your Cosen Saw might not be cutting due to a few reasons. The motor could be running in the wrong direction; reverse the motor's rotation (motor rotation C.C.W. pulley end). Alternatively, the blade teeth might be pointing in the wrong direction; remove the blade, turn it inside out, and reinstall it, ensuring the teeth point in the direction of travel. Lastly, if you're cutting hardened material, you may need special alloy blades. Consult your Industrial Distributor for recommendations on the type of blade required.

Why does the motor stall, resulting in blown fuses, on my Cosen Saw?
    • J
      Julie ConwaySep 4, 2025
If the motor on your Cosen Saw stalls, resulting in blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers, it could be due to a short circuit in the motor or loose connections; inspect the terminals in the motor for loose or shorted terminals or worn insulation on lead wires. Low voltage can also cause this issue; correct the low line voltage conditions. Additionally, incorrect fuses or circuit breakers in the power line could be the culprit; install the correct fuses or circuit breakers. Finally, the motor may be overloaded; reduce the motor load.

Why does my Cosen Saw motor fail to develop full power?
    • A
      Angela FisherSep 6, 2025
If your Cosen Saw motor fails to develop full power, it could be due to several reasons. The power line might be overloaded with lights, appliances, and other motors; try reducing the load on the power line. Undersized wires or a circuit that is too long could also be the cause; increase wire sizes or reduce the length of wiring. Finally, there may be a general overloading of the power company’s facilities; request a voltage check from the power company.
