Base Component Removal and Installation
SUMP STIFFENER INSERT REMOVAL
WARNING
Turn off the power and water to the product
before starting this procedure.
To remove the sump stiffener insert, first remove:
Lower rack
Lower spray arm
Sump filter screen and fine filter
REMOVE THE SUMP STIFFENER INSERT
Use a T-20 Torx bit to remove the screws around the
sump stiffener insert.
Remove the sump stiffener insert from the unit.
SUMP STIFFENER INSERT INSTALLATION
CAUTION
When servicing, use caution and monitor the unit
for leaks before installing the unit into the product
opening.
After installing the sump stiffener insert, install:
Sump filter screen and fine filter
Lower spray arm
Lower rack
INSTALL THE SUMP STIFFENER INSERT
Place the sump stiffener insert on the sump.
Use a T-20 Torx bit to install the screws around the
sump collar.
CAUTION
If no screws have ever been installed into
the sump (for example, if the sump is a new
replacement part), torque the screws in a
star pattern to 13 in lb, with a manual torque
wrench (not power tools). If screws have
been installed into the sump previously, use
hand tools (not power tools) to tighten the
screws in a star pattern to a "snug" fit.
Otherwise, the screws may strip or break.
