Overview

The BLACKMAX Digital Manifold Series, including MD50, MD50HE, MD50VHE (2-valve series), and MD100, MD100OHE, MD100VHE (4-valve series), are advanced electronic measurement tools designed for HVAC/R professionals. These digital manifolds combine the latest manifold design with electronic measurement features, housed in a rugged nylon plastic casing with a durable elastomeric keypad and a large, backlit LCD display.

Function Description:

The BLACKMAX digital manifolds are used for various service and test procedures on AC systems. They provide accurate measurements of pressure, vacuum, and temperature, enabling technicians to perform tasks such as refrigerant recovery, evacuation, and charging. Key functions include:

  • Pressure Measurement: Displays high and low side working pressures in various units (Psig, kPa, Mpa, bar, KgCm2).
  • Temperature Measurement: Displays high and low side working temperatures, Superheat (SH), Subcool (SC), and Saturation temperatures (VSAT, LSAT). Thermistor sensors (MDXCP, optional) can be attached to pipes for true temperature readings, improving SH/SC calculations.
  • Vacuum Measurement: When used with the optional MDXVG Remote Vacuum Accessory, the manifold functions as an accurate vacrometer, displaying vacuum levels in microns or inches of mercury (inHg).
  • Pressure Hold Test: Determines if a large leak exists in a system by monitoring pressure over a settable duration.
  • Vacuum Hold Test: Assesses the integrity of a system's seal by monitoring vacuum levels over a settable duration.
  • Refrigerant Management: Allows selection from 93 pre-programmed refrigerants, with quick access to 5 "favorite" refrigerants.
  • Unit Configuration: Users can customize temperature, pressure, and vacuum units of measure.
  • Automatic Power Off (APO): A configurable feature to conserve battery power by automatically turning off the manifold after a period of inactivity.
