What to do if my Craftsman Portable Generator has no AC output?
    • L
      logan96Jul 31, 2025
If your Craftsman Portable Generator is running but there's no AC output, first, try resetting the circuit breaker. If that doesn't work, check the cord set for poor connections or defects and repair if necessary. Also, test the connected device by using another device known to be in good working order. If none of these steps work, there may be a fault in the generator, and you should contact Sears or another qualified service dealer.

Make sure the fuel valve is in the "Open" position. 3. Clean or replace the air cleaner. 4. Fill the fuel tank if it's out of fuel. 5. Drain the fuel tank and carburetor and fill with fresh fuel if the fuel is stale or contains water. 6. Connect the spark plug wire to the spark plug. 7. Replace the spark plug if it is bad. 8. If the engine is flooded, wait 5 minutes and re-crank the engine.

    • D
      Diana JimenezAug 11, 2025
If the engine of your Craftsman Portable Generator runs well at no-load but bogs down when loads are connected: 1. Disconnect any electrical load that may have a short circuit. 2. Avoid overloading the generator. Check the manual section about not overloading the generator. If these steps don't solve the issue, the engine speed may be too slow or there could be a shorted generator circuit, in which case you should contact Sears or another qualified service dealer.
