iMPORTANT:The V-beltfoundon yourtractoris speciallydesigned
toengageanddisengagesafely.A substitute(non-OEM)V-beltcan
bedangerousby notdisengagingcompletely.Fora properworking
machine,useidenticalequipmentbeltsas listedinthe partspagesof
thisOperator'sManual.
Tochangeor replacethedeckbeltonyourtractor,proceedas follows:
1. Removethe deckasinstructedearlierinthis section.
2. Removethe beltcoversfromthespindlepulleysbyremovingthe
hexscrewsthatfastenthecoversto the deck.SeeFig.25,
3. It mayalso benecessaryto loosenthe hex nuton the leftidler
pulleytogetthe belt offthepulleyandaroundthebeltguard.
4. Carefullyremovethe deckbeltfromaroundthe twospindle
pulleysandthetwo deckidlerpulleys,SeeFig,25,
5. Toplacethe newbelt,beginby routingthe belt aroundthe two
outerspindlepulleysas showninFig,25,
6. Thenroutethe beltaroundthetwodeckidlerpulleysas shownin
Fig.25.
7. Retightenthe beltkeeperrodloosenedearlier.
8. Remountthebeltguardsremovedearlier,
9. Re-installthedeck,makingsurethe belt remainsroutedaround
thepulleysas instructed.Thecompletebelt routingisshownin
Fig.25.
10. Pulltherightside ofthe belt,and placethenarrowVsideof the
beltintothe PTOpulley.
11. Whileholdingthebelt andpulleytogether,rotatethe pulleytothe
left.Continueholdingand rotatingthe pulleyandbelt untilthe belt
is fullyrolledintothePTOpulley.
PARKING BRAKE ADJUSTMENT
Neverattemptto adjustthe brakeswhiletheengineis running.Always
disengagePTO(BladeEngageLever),moveshiftleverintoneutral
position,stopengineandremovekeyto preventunintendedstarting.
Ifthetractordoesnotcometo a completestopwhentheclutch-brake
pedalis completelydepressed,or ifthe tractor'srearwheelscan roll
withtheparkingbrakeapplied,the brakeis inneedof adjustment.
