      If your Craftsman Lawn Mower engine won't start, make sure the blade control is engaged. Also, check if the spark plug boot is connected and that the fuel tank isn't empty or filled with stale fuel. If your lawn mower is equipped with a primer, make sure to prime the engine as instructed. A faulty spark plug could also be the culprit, so clean, adjust the gap, or replace it. If the engine is flooded, wait a few minutes before attempting to restart. For a blocked fuel line, contact your Parts & Repair Center to have it cleaned.

      If your Craftsman Lawn Mower with electric starter fails to start, ensure the Electric Starter Push Key is fully inserted until it snaps into place. Check if the battery is charged, referring to the Battery Charger Instructional Manual for charging instructions. If the circuit breaker tripped, stop the engine, remove the Electric Starter Push Key, and disconnect the spark plug boot. Clear any debris blocking the blade, reattach the spark plug boot and reinsert the key. Wait one minute for the circuit breaker to reset before reattempting to start.
