Function Description

The Crosley CR6253B Anthology Turntable is a record player designed to play vinyl records at various speeds. It features both Bluetooth input and output capabilities, allowing users to stream music to the turntable from an audio device or transmit audio from the turntable to Bluetooth headphones or speakers. The unit also includes an Aux In Jack for connecting external audio devices via a 3.5mm auxiliary cable and RCA Jacks for connecting to active/powered speakers or a stereo system.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Power: AC power adaptor, DC output 12 V 0.5 A
  • Power Consumption: 9W
  • Speaker: 4Ω, 5 W X 2
  • Turntable Speed: 33⅓, 45, 78 RPM
  • Replacement Needle: Crosley NP5
  • Bluetooth Version: 5.1

Usage Features

Initial Setup:

  1. Place the unit on a flat, stable, and vibration-free surface.
  2. Remove the tie-wrap holding the tonearm.
  3. Connect the AC adaptor to the Power Jack. Ensure all connections are correct before plugging into a power outlet.

Turntable Operation:

  1. Rotate the On/Off Volume Knob to power on the unit.
  2. Set the Function Switch to PHONO (Function Indicator will be red).
  3. Set the Speed Switch to the appropriate speed (33⅓, 45, or 78 RPM).
  4. Place a record on the turntable, using the 45 RPM Adapter if needed.
  5. Remove the stylus protector from the stylus assembly.
  6. Release the tonearm Hold Down Clip.
  7. Lift the Tonearm, move it over the desired starting point on the record, and gently lower it to begin playback.
  8. After playback, lift the Tonearm, return it to the Tonearm Rest, and lock the Tonearm Clip.

Pitch Control: The turntable speed can be adjusted by approximately 10% using the Pitch Control Knob. Turning clockwise increases speed, while turning counter-clockwise decreases it.

Platter Auto-stop: When the Auto-stop Switch is set to ON, the platter will automatically stop spinning at the end of a record. If the turntable stops prematurely, setting the switch to OFF can resolve the issue.

Aux Input Connection: Connect an external audio device to the Aux In Jack using a 3.5mm auxiliary cable. This connection will automatically override the turntable and Bluetooth functions. The Function Indicator will be purple. To resume turntable or Bluetooth functions, unplug the auxiliary cable.

Bluetooth Operation (Input):

  1. Set the Function Switch to Bluetooth mode (Function Indicator will flash blue).
  2. Enable Bluetooth on your audio device and search for "CROSLEY CR6253" to pair.
  3. A confirmation sound will be heard upon successful pairing, and the Function Indicator will turn solid blue.
  4. Stream music from your device to the turntable.

Bluetooth Output Operation:

  1. Place the Bluetooth receiving device (headphones, speakers) close to the turntable.
  2. Set the turntable's Function Switch to the middle position for Bluetooth output (Function Indicator will slowly flash blue).
  3. Set the receiving device to pairing mode.
  4. The turntable will automatically connect to the receiving device.
  5. Upon successful pairing, the Function Indicator will turn solid blue. If pairing fails, ensure the receiving device is not connected to another Bluetooth device.

Maintenance Features

Turntable Maintenance:

  1. Avoid touching the stylus tip with fingers or bumping it against the turntable mat or record edge.
  2. Clean the stylus frequently with a soft brush, using a back-to-front motion.
  3. Clean records with a record cleaning brush and solution to remove dust or grease.
  4. Clean the turntable lid and cabinet with a slightly damped microfiber cloth. Do not use cleansers containing alcohol, benzene, or other harsh chemicals, as they may damage the finish.
  5. Crosley offers a range of cleaning accessories available on their website.

Needle Replacement:

  • Removing Needle: Gently grasp the sides of the needle and pull it away from the cartridge.
  • Installing Needle: Position the needle with its tip facing down, align the back with the cartridge, insert the front end at a downward angle, and gently lift the front until it snaps into place.

Power Saving Feature: To comply with ERP energy saving standards, some models will automatically cut off power if there is no audio input for 20 minutes. To restore power and resume playing, turn the unit off and then on again.
