Overview

This document provides the instruction manual for the CROWNFUL ICE MAKER, Model: EP1069-UL, with SKU: CFIM02. It outlines important safety instructions, details the components of the ice maker, explains its operation, and provides troubleshooting and maintenance guidelines.

Function Description:

The CROWNFUL ICE MAKER is designed to produce ice for household use. It operates by pumping water into an ice tray, where ice forms on an evaporator. Once formed, the ice tray tilts to drain remaining water, and the ice cubes are dropped into an ice basket by an ice shovel. The unit automatically restarts the ice-making cycle. It features indicators for "ICE" (blinking for standby, solid for working), "ICE FULL" (lights up when the basket is full), and "ADD WATER" (lights up when the water reservoir is low). The ice-making cycle typically takes 8-10 minutes, depending on ambient and water temperatures. The ice maker is capable of automatically stopping the ice-making process when the ice basket is full or when the water reservoir needs refilling.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Housing: ABS
  • Unit size (WXDXH): 348mm x 248mm x 290mm

Usage Features:

  1. Initial Setup: Before first use, the appliance should be unpacked, checked for complete accessories, and placed on a level, stable surface with at least 6-inch (15CM) clearance on all sides for proper ventilation. It's crucial to allow the unit to stand steadily for at least 2 hours after being moved or transported to allow fluids in the compressor to settle.
  2. Water Filling: The water reservoir should be filled with drinking water (purified or safe to drink) up to the "MAX" water level mark. Hot water should not be used, and room temperature or cooler water is recommended. The appliance should not be used in environments below 5°C.
  3. Operation: After plugging into a grounded 3-prong outlet, press the ON/OFF button to start. The "ICE" indicator will switch from blinking to solid. The ice-making cycle takes approximately 8-10 minutes.
  4. Automatic Functions: The "ICE FULL" indicator lights up when the ice basket is full, automatically stopping the cycle. The "ADD WATER" indicator lights up when the water reservoir is low, also stopping the cycle.
  5. Ice Collection: Use the provided ice scoop to remove ice from the basket. It is recommended to transfer ice to a freezer immediately as the ice maker is not a freezer and ice may last for up to 18 hours depending on ambient temperature.
  6. Water Replacement: It is suggested to replace the water every 24 hours. If the ice maker is not used for a long time, the water reservoir should be emptied.
  7. Safety Precautions:
    • Do not remove safety labels.
    • Use only a grounded 3-prong outlet.
    • Avoid extension cords; if necessary, use 3-wire cords with proper rating and positioning.
    • Do not operate with damaged cord or plug.
    • Do not let the cord hang over edges or contact hot surfaces.
    • Do not place near hot gas, electric burner, or heated oven.
    • Do not touch the evaporator to avoid injury or frostbite.
    • Do not immerse any part of the product in water.
    • Unplug before cleaning or maintenance.
    • Do not use microbiologically unsafe water.
    • Do not clean with flammable fluids.
    • Do not overturn the ice maker; if overturned, let it stand for 2 hours before restarting.
    • Allow the unit to warm to room temperature if brought in from a cold environment.
    • Never put flammable, explosive, or corrosive articles into the ice maker.
    • Do not use when flammable gas is leaking.
    • Do not attempt to disassemble, repair, modify, or replace any part.
    • Supervise children around the appliance.
    • Do not leave unattended while in use.
    • Do not use outdoors or for unintended purposes.

Maintenance Features:

  1. Cleaning Cycle: Stop the ice-making cycle, unplug the unit, and allow it to warm to room temperature.
  2. Draining Water: Gently push the ice tray back to drain residual water into the reservoir. Move the appliance forward by 75mm and open the drain plug at the bottom of the water reservoir to drain excess water.
  3. Interior Cleaning: Remove the ice basket. Clean the ice maker interior with a soft cloth dampened with warm water and vinegar, then rinse with a clean damp cloth.
  4. Accessory Cleaning: Wash the ice basket and ice scoop in warm soapy water, then rinse and dry.
  5. Exterior Cleaning: Clean the exterior with a soft damp cloth and mild dishwashing soap if needed.
  6. Important Cleaning Notes:
    • Do not use organic solvents, boiled water, harsh detergents, strong acids, or strong alkalis for cleaning.
    • Do not clean the evaporator.
  7. Storage: If the ice maker will not be used for a long time, empty the water reservoir and dry it thoroughly before storage.
  8. Troubleshooting: The manual provides solutions for common issues such as "ADD WATER" indicator turning on (low water, blocked water screen, pump malfunction), "ICE FULL" indicator turning on (full basket, sensor malfunction, low-temperature protection), "ICE FULL" indicator blinking (ice shovel blocked), ice collecting together (takes too long, low water temperature), and no ice production (high ambient or water temperature, refrigerating system leaks or blocks, poor heat dissipation). For complex issues, contact customer service or an authorized repair department.
