Opening the vents increases airflow and temperature, while closing them reduces airflow and temperature.
  • Charcoal Management:
    • Only charcoal lighter fluid should be used for lighting charcoal, following the manufacturer's instructions.
    • Gasoline, kerosene, or alcohol should never be used for lighting.
    • Charcoal lighter fluid or charcoal impregnated with lighter fluid should not be added to hot or warm charcoal.

    • Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable/volatile substances near the grill or any other heat-generating appliance.
    • Ensure the flow of combustion and ventilation air is not obstructed.
    • The vents, vent controls, and surrounding metal surfaces become very hot during use; grill mitts or hot pads should be used for adjustments.
  • Portability: The design, indicated by "Portable Charcoal Grill," suggests it is relatively easy to move, likely due to its size and leg structure.

Maintenance Features:

  • Ash Removal: Ashes should only be removed once the charcoal is completely burned out and extinguished, indicating a need for regular cleaning of the ash collection tray.
  • Cleaning: While not explicitly detailed in the provided text, the nature of a charcoal grill implies the need for regular cleaning of the cooking grid, charcoal grid, and firebowl to remove food residue and ash buildup.
  • Storage: The manual emphasizes proper placement during use, which indirectly suggests that proper storage in a dry, safe place away from flammable materials would also be beneficial for longevity.
  • Ventilation Maintenance: Ensuring that the flow of combustion and ventilation air is not obstructed is a continuous maintenance consideration during operation.
  • Inspection: The pre-assembly checklist advises checking all parts carefully, which extends to periodic inspection for wear and tear during the grill's lifespan.
