Installation Example-Open Circuit
Vulcan should be installed just before
the heat exchanger. Please ensure to
regularly drain the circuit at the bottom
of the basin or use a centrifugal filter
to take away remaining solids from the
cooling tower water.
On closed loop circuits, Vulcan is loca-
ted after the pump.
Solar Water Heating System
For best results, Vulcan should be
placed on the cold water inlet to the
heat exchanger.
Solar Pool Heating and Filtration
System
For optimal results, Vulcan should be
placed between the filter and the heat
exchanger.

Installation sites: Cooling towers on the rooftop of the second building
2-1 cooling tower A: Makeup wa ter piping size is 50A.
2-2 cooling tower B: Make up water piping size is 50A.
1 cooling tower C: Makeup water pipin g size is 50A and circulating p iping size is 80A.

Objectives:
To preven t scale buildups on the cooling towers.

To save the energy cost by p reventing the deterioration of the heat exch ange effectiveness
Ve rifi ca tio n o f th e e ffe cti ven ess :
After installation of the Vulcans, the statuses of the coolin g towers A, B, a nd C were inspected without using any water
treatment chemicals. Even after elapse of approximately six month s, almost no scale buildups were observed inside th e
refrigerators and the heat exchanger tubes, and no w ater pollution w arning was display ed. (Usually, withou t water treatme nt
chemicals, the wate r quality is de teriorated and wa ter pollution warning is displayed.) Si lica adhered on the cooling towers was
easily removed with a fing er touch. With these results, the effectiven ess of the installation of the Vulcans could be co nfirmed.

The water treatment sys tem, Vulcan, has the following features: (For details, refer to the brochure attache d.)
Vulcan changes only the crystal structure of sca les without changing the quality of water. T herefore, nothing is added or
reduced to or from the ing redients of wate r. The water through Vulcan is soft and ha s an increased permeability. Vulcan mak es
city water to drinking wa ter and can be used as better cooling water.
(*) The effectiveness of the water treatmen t in the water supply line will last for 48 hours and for approximately 2 km in distance.
Major features include:
- Prevents buildups of rus ts and scales
- Makes cleaning in the kitch en and bathroom much easier (toilets, show ers, tiles, joints, etc.)
- Drastically reduces the clogging due to o il balls
- Eliminates the necess ity of strong chemica ls for removing s cales.
- Eliminates the necess ity of additives.
- Does not change the wa ter quality.
- Prevents the clogging at the time of draina ge
