Function Description:
The DXS-3410 series switches are designed for advanced-level users familiar with network management concepts and terminology. They function as Layer 3 managed switches, supporting various networking protocols and features for efficient data communication and network management. The switches can be physically stacked, utilizing the last four ports on the front panel, allowing up to nine switches to be managed through a single connection to any LAN port using Telnet, Web UI, or SNMP. This stacking capability enhances overall reliability, serviceability, and availability, offering a cost-effective solution for network scaling. The switches support Duplex Chain and Duplex Ring stacking topologies. In a Duplex Chain, switches are interconnected in a chain-link format, enabling data transfer in one direction. A disruption in the chain will impact data transfer. In a Duplex Ring, switches form a ring or circle, allowing data transfer in two directions, which is highly robust as data can still be transmitted via alternative routes even if the ring is broken.

Usage Features:
- Installation: Can be installed without a rack by affixing rubber feet to the underside, or in a standard 19" rack using the provided rack mounting kit.
- Transceiver Installation: SFP+ and SFP28 ports support optical fiber links for extended distances. Only use pluggable optical modules and Direct-Attach Cables (DAC) that meet Class 1 Laser Product, UL/CSA, FCC 21 CFR Chapter 1, and IEC/EN 60825-1/-2: 2007 2nd edition or later European Standard regulatory requirements.
- Power Connection: Connects to AC power via the AC power socket. The switch powers on automatically as it lacks a power switch/button. An AC power cord retainer set is included to prevent accidental removal of the power cord.
- Redundant Power Supply (RPS): Supports an external DPS-500A RPS for power redundancy. The RPS connects via a 14-pin DC power cable and provides power in case of internal power failure. A green LED on the RPS unit indicates a successful connection.
- Management Options:
- Command Line Interface (CLI): Accessible via the Console port (RJ45 to RS-232 cable) or the MGMT port (RJ45) for out-of-band management, or via LAN ports using Telnet or SSH for in-band management. Default username and password is 'admin'.

- LED Indicators: Provide visual information on power status, console activity, RPS status, USB connection/data transmission, fan errors, MGMT port link/activity, data port link/activity (10GE RJ45, 10GE SFP+, 25GE SFP28), and stack ID.
- Quiet Mode: Reduces fan noise, but disables specific ports (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, and 24) on the DXS-3410-32XY model. Can only be enabled below 30°C ambient temperature.
Maintenance Features:
- USB Port: Provides additional storage for firmware images and configuration files, supporting USB flash drives.
