The D-Link DXS-3410 Series is a Layer 3 stackable managed switch designed for seamless interconnection among diverse networking devices, offering an extensive range of port types and speeds. This series leverages SFP28 and SFP+ ports with fiber-optic cabling for high-performing uplink connections over considerable distances. The DXS-3410 series incorporates D-Link's third-generation Green Ethernet technology (IEEE 802.3az), which conserves power by deactivating LEDs for inactive links and allowing ports to autonomously enter a hibernated state.
Function Description:
The DXS-3410 series switches are designed for advanced-level users familiar with network management concepts and terminology. They function as Layer 3 managed switches, supporting various networking protocols and features for efficient data communication and network management. The switches can be physically stacked, utilizing the last four ports on the front panel, allowing up to nine switches to be managed through a single connection to any LAN port using Telnet, Web UI, or SNMP. This stacking capability enhances overall reliability, serviceability, and availability, offering a cost-effective solution for network scaling. The switches support Duplex Chain and Duplex Ring stacking topologies. In a Duplex Chain, switches are interconnected in a chain-link format, enabling data transfer in one direction. A disruption in the chain will impact data transfer. In a Duplex Ring, switches form a ring or circle, allowing data transfer in two directions, which is highly robust as data can still be transmitted via alternative routes even if the ring is broken.
