TROUBLESHOOTING 39

Engine speed suddenly changes

Unusual sound occurs

Exhaust smoke or dark emissions appear

Oil pressure warning light comes on

THE ENGINE MUST BE STOPPED IMMEDIATELY IF:

! Check the fuel system and injection timing.

! Check all moving parts

! Check for loose or damaged parts

! Check the fuel injection system

! Check for lubricating system leaks

! Check for proper oil level

! Check the oil pressure relief valve

! Check the oil pressure switch

POSSIBLE CAUSE CORRECTIVE ACTIONS

PROBLEM: EXHAUST SMOKE OR DARK EMISSIONS

! Contact dealer for repairs.

! Drain and replace with proper fuel.

! Clean or replace as required.

! Check injection timing, injection pump, valve adjustment and typical causes of

low compression. Make adjustment or repairs as needed.

Fuel governor malfunction

Poor quality fuel

Faulty fuel injector

Incomplete fuel combustion
