Overview

The DAEWOO DACNQ740S is a gasoline-powered concrete cutter designed for various cutting applications. This manual provides essential information for its safe and effective operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Function Description:

The DACNQ740S concrete cutter is a hand-held machine primarily used for cutting concrete, asphalt, stone masonry, cast iron, aluminum, copper, brass, cables, rubber, plastic, steel, steel alloys, and other hard metals. It is equipped with a two-stroke engine and uses a mixture of petrol and two-stroke oil. The machine features a reversible cutting head, allowing for cuts close to walls or at ground level. It is designed to be used with abrasive or diamond cutting blades, which are suitable for high-speed, portable power cutters. The machine also incorporates a vibration damping system to minimize vibration and enhance ease of operation. A low flushing water kit is integrated for maximum dust suppression during wet cutting.

  • Safety Distance: 15 meters (50 feet) from the working area.

Usage Features:

The DACNQ740S is designed for hand-held operation, requiring the user to maintain a firm grip with both hands on the front and rear handles.

  • Safety Equipment: Includes a throttle trigger lockout to prevent accidental operation, a stop switch for immediate engine shutdown, and a blade guard to protect against thrown debris. The machine's vibration damping system reduces operator fatigue.
  • Cutting Blades: Compatible with abrasive and diamond blades. Users must ensure the correct bushing is used and that the blade rotates in the direction indicated by the arrow on the blade. It is crucial to use blades approved for the machine's speed rating and intended material. Never use circular saw blades or toothed blades (such as wood cutting blades or carbide-tipped blades) due to increased kickback risk and potential for serious injury. Diamond blades should not be used to cut plastic as heat can melt the plastic and cause kickback.
  • Wet Cutting: Diamond blades for wet cutting require water to keep the blade core and segments cool, increasing service life and reducing dust. Wet cutting blades should never be used dry.
  • Dry Cutting: Dry cutting diamond blades require air flow for cooling and are recommended for intermittent cutting. The blade should be allowed to run "free" without load every few seconds to dissipate heat.
  • Kickback Prevention: Users are warned against using the kickback zone of the blade. Proper support of the workpiece is essential to prevent pinching or stalling of the blade, which can lead to violent kickback. When cutting pipes, ensure they are securely supported to prevent movement and pinching.
  • Starting and Stopping: The starting procedure involves ensuring the stop switch is in the left position, pulling the choke control completely, pressing the decompression valve, and repeatedly pressing the air purge diaphragm until fuel fills it. For starting, the front handle should be gripped with the left hand, the right foot placed on the lower section of the rear handle, and the starter handle pulled firmly and rapidly. To stop the engine, move the stop switch to the right.
  • Fuel Handling: Use good quality unleaded or leaded petrol with an octane rating of 90 (RON) or higher. A 2% (1:50) mixture of petrol and two-stroke oil is required. Fuel should be mixed in a clean container, starting with half the petrol, then adding all the oil, mixing, and finally adding the remaining petrol. Always refuel in a well-ventilated area, away from sparks or open flames, and at least 3 meters from the starting point.

Maintenance Features:

Regular maintenance is crucial for the machine's lifespan and safe operation.

  • Daily Maintenance:
    • Clean the machine externally with clean water after use.
    • Clean the cooling air intake.
    • Perform a general inspection, checking the throttle lockout, stop switch, blade guard, cutting blade, water delivery system, and for fuel leaks.
  • Weekly Maintenance:
    • Inspect the vibration damping system for cracks or deformation.
    • Check the muffler for completeness and secure attachment.
    • Inspect the drive belt.
    • Check the carburettor.
    • Inspect the starter housing.
  • Monthly Maintenance:
    • Clean the spark plug and check the electrode gap (0.5 mm). Replace if necessary.
    • Clean the fuel tank.
    • Inspect the fuel system.
    • Clean or replace the air filter.
    • Check the drive gear and clutch for wear.
  • Drive Belt Tensioning: New drive belts require readjustment after one or two tanks of fuel. The belt tensioner (B) should be turned to position "1" to tighten the drive belt after fitting.
  • Carburettor Adjustment: If the engine lacks power or accelerates poorly, check and replace the air filter if needed. If issues persist, contact an authorized service workshop. The idle speed can be adjusted using the T screw to ensure the cutting blade remains stationary when idling.
  • Fuel Filter: The fuel filter is located inside the fuel tank and cannot be cleaned. It must be replaced when clogged, at least once per year.
  • Air Filter: The air filter should be checked if the engine drops in power. It should not be cleaned or blown clean with compressed air as this can damage it. Dispose of filters correctly, wearing approved respiratory protection during replacement.
  • Water Delivery System: Check the nozzles on the blade guard and the filter in the water connection for clogging and clean as necessary.
  • Storage: Store cutting blades in dry, frost-free conditions on a flat, level surface. The fuel tank must be emptied for long-term storage.
  • Disposal: The product should be submitted to an appropriate recycling station in accordance with local requirements.
