Overview

This document is a service manual for the DAEWOO DWF-700M Auto Washer. It provides detailed information on the washer's specifications, structure, installation, usage, maintenance, features, technical explanations, error messages, wiring diagrams, and parts lists.

Function Description

The DAEWOO DWF-700M is a full-automatic auto washer designed for household use. It offers five washing courses: Normal, Blanket, Economy, Suit, and Soak. The washer incorporates several innovative features to enhance washing performance, reduce noise and vibration, and simplify operation. These include an air bubble washing system, a water current system for unbalanced load adjustment, and a one-touch operation system. The washer is designed to handle various types of laundry and water conditions, with automatic adjustments for draining time and water supply for specific wash types like blankets.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Model: DWF-700M
  • Power Source: Available in all local AC voltage and cycle.
  • Power Consumption: 430W (50Hz), 530W (60Hz).

  • Operating Water Pressure: 0.3kgf/cm² ~ 8kgf/cm² (2.94 N/cm² ~ 78.4N/cm²).
  • Revolution Per Minute:
    • 60Hz: Wash: 125-140 RPM, Spin: 640-675 RPM.
    • 50Hz: Wash: 130-150 RPM, Spin: 710-140 RPM.
  • Pulsator: 6 wings (Ø376mm).
  • Water Level Control: Electronical sensor.
  • Gear Mechanism Ass'y: Helical gear.
  • Additional Functions: Lint filter, softener inlet, soak wash function, alarm signal, residual time display, auto water supply, bubble function, auto re-feed water, auto power off.

Usage Features

The DWF-700M is designed for user convenience with several features:

  • One-Touch Operation System: Simplifies the washing process.
  • Water Level Selector: Allows users to choose from four water levels (High, Medium, Low, Small) to match the laundry load, optimizing water usage.
  • Soak Wash Function: When selected, the total wash time increases by 60 minutes for the soak process, enhancing cleaning for heavily soiled items. The residual time display shows the extended duration.
  • Automatic Water Supply System for Blanket Wash: The washer automatically checks and re-supplies water after 2 minutes during blanket wash to compensate for water absorbed by the blanket, ensuring optimal water levels.
  • Residual Time Display: Shows the remaining time in minutes after the START/HOLD button is pressed, counting down until the operation is finished. A light indicates completion.
  • Air Bubble Washing System: This system supplies air from the bottom of the outer tub into the pulsator, where it is dispersed by the pulsator's rotation, creating air bubbles. This enhances wash effectiveness and helps laundry detergent dissolve well in water.
  • Water Current to Adjust Unbalanced Load: The pulsator rotates clockwise (C.W) and counter-clockwise (C.C.W) for 35 seconds to prevent clothes from becoming eccentric during the wash, effectively reducing vibration and noise during spinning. This function is not active during the "Suit" course.
  • Automatic Unbalance Adjustment: The safety switch detects abnormal vibration during spin. If the outer tub hits the safety switch due to uneven wash loads, the spin process is interrupted, and the rinse process is started automatically. If the unbalance persists, the program stops, and an alarm is given. The alarm stops when the lid is closed, prompting the user to check the wash load and installation.
  • Circulating-Water Course: Water is circulated in a designed pattern during washing and rinsing, improving their effectiveness. Water is discharged from the upper part of the tub through a water channel, circulating approximately 40 L/min at high water levels.

Maintenance Features

The DWF-700M includes features for easy maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity:

  • Lint Filter: Located on the upper part of the tub, this filter collects lint from the wash water. It is recommended to use the lint filter during washing.
    • Cleaning the Lint Filter: Pull the filter frame upward, turn the lint filter inside out, wash off lint with water, and then reinsert it into the slot.
  • Water Inlet Filter: This filter should be cleaned if water leaks from the water inlet.
    • Cleaning the Water Inlet Filter: Pull out the power plug, turn off the water supply, separate the inlet hose, pull out the inlet filter, and remove dirt with a brush.
  • Drain Filter: Equipped at the back side of the washer (for "U" shape drain hose models), this filter screens foreign objects like threads, coins, pins, and buttons. Regular cleaning (every 10 uses) is crucial to prevent drain problems.
    • Cleaning the Drain Filter: Put a container under the filter to collect remaining water, turn the cap counter-clockwise, pull out the filter assembly, clean foreign stuffs, insert the filter along the guiding prominence, and turn the cap clockwise tightly.
  • Automatic Draining Time Adjustment: The system automatically adjusts draining time based on the draining condition. If draining is good, the spin process begins after drainage. If draining is bad, the draining time is prolonged. If there is no draining, the program stops, and an alarm (E blinked on display lamp) is given. The micom remembers the time from the start of draining to the pressure switch reaching "OFF" point to determine residual drain time.
