Overview

The Daewoo 20L 800W Digital Microwave with defrost setting is a versatile kitchen appliance designed for efficient and convenient food preparation. This microwave oven offers a range of features, from basic heating to more advanced cooking programs, making it suitable for various household needs. Its user-friendly interface and safety mechanisms ensure a reliable and secure cooking experience.

Function Description

The primary function of this microwave oven is to heat and cook food using microwave energy. It operates at 800W, providing sufficient power for quick and thorough cooking. The 20-liter capacity is ideal for standard household use, accommodating a variety of dishes and containers.

One of the core features is Microwave Cooking, which allows users to select different power levels:

  • High Power (100P): For quick and thorough cooking, utilizing 100% microwave power.
  • Medium High Power (80P): For medium express cooking, using 80% microwave power.
  • Medium Power (60P): Suitable for steaming food, operating at 60% microwave power.
  • Medium Low Power (40P): Specifically designed for defrosting, using 40% microwave power.
  • Low Power (20P): Ideal for keeping food warm, operating at 20% microwave power.

The maximum cooking time that can be set is 60 minutes, offering flexibility for various recipes.

The Defrosting function is a key highlight, allowing users to defrost different types of food based on weight. It offers three preset categories:

  • d.1: Defrosts meat from 0.1kg to 2.0kg.
  • d.2: Defrosts poultry from 0.2kg to 3.0kg.
  • d.3: Defrosts seafood from 0.1kg to 0.9kg. During defrosting, the microwave provides audible reminders to turn the food over, ensuring even thawing.

The Auto Cooking menu simplifies meal preparation with a selection of preset programs for common food items. These programs are designed to automatically adjust cooking times and power levels based on the food type and weight, eliminating the need for manual settings. Examples include popcorn, potato, vegetables, meat, fish, chicken, reheat, drinks or soup, cooked rice, cooked pasta, bread, and pizza.

An Instant Start feature allows for immediate cooking without setting a specific program. A single press starts cooking for 1 minute, and subsequent presses increase the time in 10-second increments.

The microwave also includes an Auto Start with timer delay function, enabling users to preset a cooking time for a later point in the day. This is particularly useful for meal planning, as it allows food to start cooking automatically at a desired time.

The microwave is designed for ease of use, featuring a clear LED display and intuitive controls.

Utensils Guideline:

The manual provides clear guidance on suitable utensils for microwave use. Heat-resistant ceramic, glass, or plastic containers are generally recommended. Metal containers, grill racks, lacquered items, bamboo, wood, and paper are explicitly advised against due to safety concerns and potential damage to the oven or food.

Cooking Tips:

To optimize cooking results, the manual suggests:

  • Placing thicker food pieces towards the outside of the container and thinner pieces towards the center.
  • Starting with shorter cooking times and extending as needed to prevent overcooking.
  • Turning foods like chicken, burgers, or steak during cooking.
  • Stirring dishes from the outside inwards to the center once or twice.
  • Ensuring meat is thoroughly cooked with no pink signs.

Defrosting Tips:

For effective defrosting:

  • Turn thick and chunky foods regularly to ensure uniform thawing.
  • For foods over 2.0kg, turn them at least twice.
  • Do not refreeze food once defrosted.
  • A table provides guidance on defrost times for various food types and weights.
