Heat Pump BELOW Indoor Coil
Mounting the indoor coil above the heat
pump unit will requre an inverted loop in the
gas line adjacent or near the connection to
the indoor coil, for the purpose of creating
an oil trap. The top of the loop must be
slightly higher than the top of the coil.
*Includes pressure losses of any elbow, bends, etc.
Maximum line set
equivalent length of 250 ft* .
The maximum line set actual length is 200 ft.

Heat Pump ABOVE Indoor Coil
Mounting the heat pump above the indoor coil
will requre an oil trap that is vertically centered
between the heat pump and air handler IF the
vertical seperation exceeds 80ft.
The trap can be constructed from standard
refrigerant fittings as shown in the figure
(bottom left).
