sump
and

Jack

take the

the
engine assembly

Remove
the
front
engIne
mountmg
to front
crossmember
secunng
bolts

RaIse
the
front of
the
engme assembly
and
Insert
two blocks
of wood of
SUItable dunensIOns
between the
1
engine mountmgs
and
the
front
crossmember Lower
the
Jack
and allow the blocks of wood
to
take
the
weight
of the
engine
assembly

Remove
the
screws
secunng
the
sump
to the
engine
crankcase
and
tunmg
cover and
manoeuvre the
sump
clear of
the
engIne
InstallatIon
IS
a reversal of the
removal
procedure

Scrape
the
sump
and
cylInder
block faces free of the
old
gasket
With
cleamng
solvent
wash
the
mSlde of the
sump
free
of carbon or
sludge depOSits
Apply JOIntmg
compound
to both SIdes of
the
new
sump
gasket
and
attach
the
gasket
In
pOSItIon
on
the
crankcase
Instal
the
sump
and
tIghten
the
secunng
screws

and
evenly

the

gasket

mstalled
the
offset
dog
on the
gear
spIndle

aligned
WIth
the
pencil
or
crayon
mark before removal
Ensure
that
the offset
dog
IS
facmg
towards the front
of
the
engme
Instal
and
securely tIghten
the
pump
mountmg
bolts
NOTE To
mlnlmlse the
chance
of
Oil
leakage
coat both
Sides
of
the new
Oil
pump mounting gasket
with
an
approved Jomtmg
compound
