This document describes the Defender Car Vision 2015 HD Car DVR, a device designed for recording video in vehicles.
Function Description:
The Defender Car Vision 2015 HD Car DVR is a car video recorder that captures high-definition video. It operates in several modes: DVR mode for continuous recording, camera mode for still photos, view mode for playback, web-camera mode for use as a computer webcam, and card-reader mode for accessing the memory card. The device automatically starts recording when switched on (if connected to external power) and can be manually turned on/off. It features motion detection, repeated recording with file protection, and a night mode for low-light conditions. The DVR can be connected to a TV via HDMI for video output.

- Power On/Off:
- Manual: Hold the POWER button to turn on/off. Recording starts automatically when turned on manually.
- Automatic: Connect to external power via USB cable. The DVR will start automatically. If connected to a computer, the operation mode needs to be selected manually; otherwise, video recording starts automatically. When external power is disconnected, the DVR will automatically switch off in 15 seconds if power is not resumed.
- Battery Charging: The battery charges in all modes when connected to the included power supply or a computer's USB port. A red indicator light shows charging status, turning off when fully charged. Charging via a computer's USB port can be slow, especially during operation, as the DVR may consume more current than the USB port provides.

- Playback Mode: Allows viewing files in full screen, playing files, or viewing up to nine files simultaneously as miniatures.

- Card Reader Mode: The inserted memory card is recognized as a removable disk by the computer.
- File Protection: The "only reading" attribute can be set via the SOS button or menu to protect video records from deletion, even during repeated recording when the memory card is full.

- Menu Settings:
- Video Resolution: Select recording resolution.
- Time Mark: Enable/disable date and time display on the image.
- Motion Detection: When enabled, the DVR starts recording for one minute upon detecting motion, then stops until motion is detected again. This feature is active regardless of repeated recording settings and only affects the DVR when the memory card is full.
- Repeated Recording: Records video in fragments of selected duration. When the memory card is full, the oldest unprotected file is deleted to continue recording. If off, recording continues until the card is full.
- Night Mode: Controls LED scene highlight for low-light recording (Auto, Off, On).
- Microphone: Turn the microphone on/off.
- Photo Resolution: Select still image resolution.
- Shutter Sound: Enable/disable sound imitation of the shutter release.

- Troubleshooting:
- "No space" error, not responding, not switching on, incorrect operation: Remove and reinsert memory card (device off), format memory card, change memory card, reset DVR settings to default, remove and reinsert battery (resets date/time), or remove battery, connect to external power, wait for loading, disconnect power, then insert battery.
- Cannot enter DVR menu, device unresponsive to MENU button: Stop video recording before entering the menu.
- Soft image: Clean camera lens as described above.
- Computer does not detect device in card reader or web camera mode: Check device on different USB ports and computers, ensuring USB ports support 500 mA consumption and avoiding USB extenders.

- General Precautions:
- Do not open or repair the device yourself.
- Keep foreign particles out of holes.
- Protect from excessive humidity, liquid, dust, vibration, mechanical loads, and high temperatures (above +50°C) or direct sunlight.
- Only use and store between +5 °C and +40 °C, avoiding moisture condensation.
- Do not switch on immediately after bringing it from a cold environment; allow at least 4 hours at indoor temperature.
- Do not use power supplies with current higher than the source included in the kit, as it may damage the battery.
