      Black soot is a normal byproduct of burning natural gas and propane. To minimize it, avoid placing rocks or stones directly above the flame, as this can cause excessive impingement. You can also wash the stones with soap and water to remove some of the soot.

    Why is the flame low on my Dekko FPI-DECK20SQ using liquid propane?

      A low flame with liquid propane could be due to improper lighting procedures. Ensure the chrome key is in the “off” position before turning on the tank. Also, check the gas level of your liquid propane tank. Finally, make sure that the burn holes of your fire pit are not covered by removing any excess stones.

      A low burning flame with natural gas may be due to improper gas pressure or an inadequate gas supply line. Ensure the burn holes of your fire pit are not covered by removing any excess stones.
