Overview

The XJ3 series relay, manufactured by DELIXI ELECTRIC, is a crucial component designed for the protection of three-phase AC motor control circuits and irreversible transmission equipment. Its primary function is to provide phase loss protection and phase sequence protection, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of various industrial machinery.

Function Description:

The XJ3 relay operates by monitoring the three-phase power supply to detect anomalies such as phase loss or incorrect phase sequence. When connected to the power control circuit, it can detect if a fuse in any phase is burnt or if a circuit opens. In such events, the relay acts to cut off the power to the KM main circuit, thereby protecting the motor.

The XJ3-2 model specifically focuses on phase loss protection, activating when the motor starts rather than during continuous operation, which helps prevent damage during critical startup phases.

For equipment with irreversible three-phase operation, such as water pumps, fans, air compressors, elevator motors, and various distribution panels, the XJ3 relay also provides reliable phase sequence identification. If the actual phase sequence deviates from the originally identified sequence—perhaps due to repairs or changes in the power supply line—the XJ3 will detect this discrepancy and cut off power to the KM main circuit, safeguarding the equipment.

The XJ3-G and XJ3-5 models offer enhanced protection, including phase loss, phase sequence protection, and three-phase voltage imbalance detection (7%~10%). These models are designed to operate when the voltage unbalance is less than 7%, providing a more comprehensive protective solution.

Important Technical Specifications:

The XJ3 series relays adhere to the GB/T14048.5 standard. Key specifications include:

  • Rated Insulation Voltage (Ui): AC380V
  • Rated Impulse Withstand Voltage (Uimp): AC1.5kV
  • Rated Operating Voltage (Ue) / Rated Operating Current (Ie) under usage category AC-15:
    • AC380V/0.95A
    • AC240V/1.5A
    • AC120V/3A
  • Resistive Current (Ith): 5A
  • Rated Operating Voltage (Three-phase): AC380V
  • Pollution Level: 3
  • Three-phase Imbalance: 7%~10% (for XJ3-G, XJ3-5)
  • Mechanical Life: ≥1 million times
  • Electrical Life: ≥100,000 times
  • Sampling Mode: Voltage sampling
  • Protective Contact: One set of normally open contacts, one set of normally closed contacts
  • Contact Capacity: AC 220V 3A (resistive)
  • Operating Voltage: Three-phase voltage (50/60Hz) 380V

Cooperation with Short Circuit Protective Device (SCPD):

For optimal protection, the RT16-00, 6A fuse with "1" type basic protection is recommended as the SCPD. This ensures that the relay will not pose a danger to personnel or equipment in the event of a short circuit. It is crucial to note that continuous operation is not permitted before repair or replacement of parts. Using a different model of fuse protective device may compromise the original cooperation.

Usage Features:

  • Installation: The relay can be installed vertically or horizontally.
  • Environmental Conditions:
    • Altitude: Does not exceed 2000 meters.
    • Ambient Temperature: Not higher than +40°C and not below -5°C.
    • Rated Control Power Supply Voltage Variation: 85%-110% of the rated voltage.
    • Installation Location: Free from harsh vibration, explosive hazards, corrosive gases, conductive dust, rain, or snow erosion.
  • Wiring: Proper wiring according to the provided diagram (Fig. 3) is essential for correct operation. The manual includes a detailed wiring diagram for XJ3-G, XJ3-2, and XJ3-5 models, indicating connections for L1, L2, L3, FU (fuse), KM (AC contactor), and the relay's internal contacts.
  • Troubleshooting: If the motor fails to start, users are advised to check the AC contactor contact for normal operation or inspect according to item 7 of the manual. Forcing the machine to start for extended periods is not recommended.
  • Phase Sequence Identification: The relay's design allows for the identification of the phase sequence of the XJ3 relay to be valid when the power input pins 1, 2, and 3 are connected. This ensures normal machine operation once the phase sequence is identified. If the power supply changes, the XJ3 relay will automatically provide protection.
  • Shockproof and Moisture-proof Measures: These measures should be taken for relays during transport.
  • Mounting: The relay is fixed to the base with a buckle. To release the relay body, first open the buckle, and then slowly pull out the relay.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Any equipment that may cause major economic losses or personal safety issues should be designed with double circuit protection, incorporating sufficient allowance and safety measures.

Maintenance Features:

  • Transport and Storage: The product should be stored in well-ventilated places free from rain or snow erosion or squeezing during transportation. The storage temperature should be between -25°C and +55°C, with relative humidity not exceeding 90%.
  • Unpacking and Inspection: Upon receiving the product, open the outer carton and verify that the Operation Instruction is included in the packing box.
  • Ordering Notice: When ordering, specify the model and specifications of the product. For any special requirements, contact the manufacturer.
  • Company Commitment: Zhejiang Delixi Electrical Co., Ltd. provides a warranty for 24 months from the production date. During this period, the company offers free repair and replacement services for any damage or abnormal operation due to poor manufacturing quality. If damage occurs due to other reasons, a paid repair service will be provided, even within the warranty period.
  • Customer Service: For any questions, customers can contact the company's customer service department. Customer Service Hotline: 400-826-8008.
  • Manual Version: The second edition of this User Manual was issued in Aug. 2021.

The XJ3 series relay is a robust and reliable device designed to enhance the safety and longevity of three-phase AC motor systems by providing essential protection against electrical anomalies.
