The Alienware m15 R6 serves as a portable gaming and computing device, offering robust performance for demanding applications and games. The laptop is designed to be user-friendly, with intuitive controls and a customizable interface through the Alienware Command Center (AWCC).
To set up the Alienware m15 R6, simply connect the power adapter to the power-adapter port located at the back of the laptop and then press the power button (Alien head) on the top panel. The power button can be customized in Windows for various behaviors, such as putting the computer to sleep or shutting it down. Pressing it briefly when the computer is on will put it into sleep state, while holding it for 10 seconds will force a shut-down.
The laptop offers a variety of ports for external devices and network connectivity. The Alienware m15 R6 features a responsive touchpad for navigation, with distinct left-click and right-click areas. The keyboard is designed for gaming, with options for 4-zone RGB backlit rubber dome or RGB per key backlit Cherry mechanical keys. It supports QWERTY layout with 85, 86, or 89 keys depending on the region (United States/Canada, United Kingdom, or Japan). The Alienware m15 R6 comes with either a 3-cell, 56 Wh or a 6-cell, 86 Wh "smart" lithium-ion battery. The Dell Power Manager application allows users to control charging time, duration, and start/end times for optimal battery health. Dell recommends regularly charging the battery for optimal power consumption. If the battery is completely depleted, connect the power adapter, turn on the computer, and then restart to reduce power consumption.
