About this task
The following images indicate the location of the voltage regulator heat sink and provides a visual representation of the removal
procedure.
Steps
1. Loosen the two captive screws that secure the voltage regulator heat sink to the system board.
2. Lift the voltage regulator heat sink off the system board.
Installing the voltage regulator heat sink
Prerequisites
If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.
NOTE:
The voltage regulator heat sink is shipped as a separate unit and it does not ship along with the system board.
Ensure to replace the voltage regulator heat sink from old system board to the new system board. Voltage regulator is
required for computers that are shipped with the following processors:
